I thought the word "polar" meant that the molecule actually has a non-zero dipole moment (and not just quadrupole or some higher moment).

@MichelleHell My point was that he called CO₂ "polar" even though it doesn't have a dipole moment. I didn't the word could be used like that.

@awebuser5914 I don't think it was pointless. Firstly, at least some of the points in the video did deserve criticism. Secondly, that most consumers can't currently access Waymo services is beside the point because clearly they were not primarily aiming to attract more customers for their current services but rather get approval to run or at least test their services in more places. Thus the Veritasium video (which was basically an ad) was aimed at voters and politicians.

@awebuser5914 I disagree. Firstly, Veritasium has over 11 million subscribers making him a (relatively) major YouTube personality (and even if he was (relatively) minor that doesn't make the theory that his video was an ad aimed at consumers where Waymo services are available more likely). Secondly, this one video is almost certainly just a one piece in a larger ongoing ad campaign. Thirdly, Waymo probably uses corporate lobbying too but that doesn't reach voters who they probably want to influence too.
