Put the sword part in a separate video.

Does Campfire's timeline feature support time travel, alternate timelines/worlds etc?

"you took out French Guinea there at the end despite the fact that France somehow still owns it" Well, actually French Guinea became independent from France in 1958. And don't you dare complain about me being a nitpicker. You started it! ;)

Napoléon was an artillery officer so a cannon rush would suit him much better than a Zerg rush.

@Alexander Hanley: Norwegian is kind of between Danish and Swedish but closer to Swedish. (At least, that's what I've been told. I only know Swedish so I can't attest to this personally.) Norway was a part of Denmark for longer but it was a part Sweden more recently and is in any case geographically closer.

Gesundheit.

@snipergod5216 Yeah. My comment was about where the fighting happened. OP (Jason Blalock) commented that it happened in colonies rather than on French or English soil. I replied that the French would have likely wanted to fight on English soil but couldn't get across the Channel.

The golden dog is obviously explained by time travel.
1
Blue leans more towards ancient history.

@amaqteganang4948 Can you understand any Malagasy?

The ending of that last story reminded me of Pyrrhus.
1
I've heard it being described as "Napoleon's Vietnam".

The poorest wouldn't have a car anyway (at least in cities).

I think he did become emperor in 1804. In 1802 he merely became the "First Consul for Life" (having been the even lesser "First Consul" since 1799).

@ChiChiLand299 : I don't have charts of relative GPD per capita at the time for e.g. Britain and Switzerland, but I would guess the difference isn't huge. Certainly not of the size that it would much affect the possibility for scientific advancement.

I think "el dorado" doesn't quite mean "the gold" but rather "the golden (one)" and "the gold" would be "el oro". Correct me if I'm wrong.

Better than the South Sea Company at least. :)

If only Harald Hardrada had waited until after William to invade...

It's not Hearth Swarming?

Now I'm thinking should I watch Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo. Or maybe I should watch Breakin' first. At any rate, Red should cover Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo in her Modern Classics Summarized series.
1
@owlman_ : Thanks. That was interesting.

There seems to be an optical illusion in the end texts. The "Follow us on Twitter..." -text looks like it's moving faster than the list of names that precede it. But, if you move frame by frame, the illusion disappears.

If the Florentines couldn't admit they had opened Dante's (supposed) casket, how do we even know they did it? Did someone write it in a secret diary that was only revealed later? Did someone inspect the casket and noticed it had been tampered with?

Hey! How come you skipped Waldensians and Hussites?

11:20 "some pirates of his captured Iceland" According to Wikipedia they just capture 400-800 slaves from four villages. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turkish_Abductions

Question. So according to that, Zeus locked up the Titans in Tartarus. But what Titans were locked up there (besides Cronus)? IIRC at least Helios appeared in the Odyssey not locked up in Tartarus. Some of Odysseus's crew ate some of his cattle and he asked Zeus to smite them with his lightning and he obliged. And in one earlier video on Selene and Endymion you mentioned that Selene asks Zeus to make Endymion hers forever so presumably Selene is not locked up either.
1
Thanks. Did Helios stay neutral as well?
1
@calamusgladiofortior2814 : But in German death is feminine and luck is neuter.

The Roman Empire still stood when Columbus was born.

1:44 That clothing looks very period-accurate.

Btw, does anyone know what word is being translated as "demon" here and what precisely means in Chinese?
1
@chinkeeyong1996 Thanks!

I've always wondered, what it means for things to be in that jar/box vs. being outside of it. Supposedly humanity didn't have all those afflictions while they were still inside it and only got them after they got out. However in the case of hope, humanity still has it since it remained inside and didn't get out. Isn't that a bit inconsistent.

Scotland and England aren't the only neighbors that have fought a lot of wars: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dano-Swedish_war

@MedjayofFaiyum I think exonyms like "India" are fine. They're quite common in the world. My country is known as "Finland" or something like that in most of the world (including your language, I suspect) whereas the native name is "Suomi". Also, the native name of Germany is "Deutchland", the native name of Geogia is "Sakartveli", the native name of Hungary is "Magyarzág", the native name of Greece is "Hellas", the native name of Japan is "Nippon" or "Nihon", the native name of Armenia is "Hayastan", etc.

@wardabatool717 Sorry, I don't understand that reference. Apparently, that's a book series or something?

But they spoke a Germanic language.
1
@immeen4868 But Wikipedia says that the sovereignty was shared between the Bishop of Urgell and the Count of Foix.
1
@callysto_ii Ha! Did not expect that.

@rekelz282 😲

@alexandredesbiens-brassard9109 Quebecois sounds (more) gay? Interesting. :)
1
Southern Sweden? Are you talking about Skåne, Blekinge, and Halland? Those do in fact rightfully belong to Denmark. :)
