  2.  @rayfinnila6079  "Independence granted on December 6, 1917" I think "granted" is a misleading word here because it sounds like it's referring to recognition of independence by Russia which happened about a month later.

  3. My impression is the opposite. I thought that the Ukrainians were initially outnumbered in troops but turned that around by calling more and more reservists into duty. In equipment, they're still outnumbered.

  4. "Currently, there are no other wars that major nations are fighting." Well, there's the Yemeni civil war (and also the Tigray war in Ethiopia, or is that on pause?). I think one can reasonably say that Saudi Arabia is a major nation. Of course, it's still true that these are not wars that would majorly distract the West from this war.

  5. I've been told that at least some of the Soviet units that were issued ski combat manuals weren't issued skis. At least in those cases it's somewhat irrelevant whether the troops were good at skiing or not.

  6.  @ryansharpe3564  In the case of Yemen I said that the major nation taking part is Saudi Arabia rather than Yemen itself.
