@charlesyang6702 No, it's not wrong. Finland declared neutrality in 1939 when the war in Europe (between Germany and Poland) started. That neutrality didn't stop the Soviet Union from initiating a war against Finland.

@gingerfox7143 "It is very clear that Russia always keep it's word." Hardly. There are many instances where Russia hasn't kept its word. Russia promised to respect Ukraine's borders in the Budapest Memorandum (1994) and in a Friendship Treaty (1997) but it broke those promises in 2014 and 2022. Also Russia and Ukraine agreed on the right of passage through the Kerch Strait after the Tuzla Incident (2003) but Russia also broke that promise in 2018 when it attacked Ukrainian ships transiting through the Kerch Strait.

"Staying neutral is the best strategy yesterday , today and also tomorrow." Staying neutral didn't stop Finland being invaded in 1939.

@charlesyang6702 "What I think is so unbelievable here is Finns get mobilized to become anti-Russia within short period of time after Ukraine conflict broken up." It shouldn't be so unbelievable considering Russia's brazen behavior. If you think neutrality is good then shouldn't you also demand that Russia should be neutral rather than belligerent?

@charlesyang6702 I only said that Russia chose to not be neutral, at least in the case of Ukraine. You are the one who said "Staying neutral is the best strategy yesterday , today and also tomorrow."

@charlesyang6702 Your original comment didn't contain such a restriction. And why would this be different for Russia? Does it have some kind of special right to be non-neutral? In any case, the reason why NATO membership seems more attractive for e.g. Finland now is that Russia has attacked a couple of non-members but not a single NATO member.
