I'm pretty sure the Americans aren't going to launch a nuclear first strike against anyone (and I don't think the Russians will either despite you thinking they should). "If Russia could massacre the US without any consequence, they would do so." If that's true that would make them rather evil. "Native Indians in the US are extinct because the human spirit made them fight to their death." Something like 90% of their population was lost to disease, not war, and they're not quite extinct despite that.
