"Why do we call him President Zelensky when he was never elected?" You're mistaken. He was elected in 2019 with about 73.22% of the vote (in the second round).

What do you mean "first time"? The presidential term is 5 years meaning the next presidential elections would be due next year (under normal conditions). I'm pretty sure Zelensky has not said there wouldn't be elections anymore. If you disagree, I'm sure you can give a (reputable) source. Ukraine might postpone elections while the war is still going on but I'm sure you understand why arranging elections while the country is still under a full-scale invasion might be difficult.
