@mk-mq1od you're right. We indians had an advanced civilization but that doesn't mean we take credit for every innovation in this world. We have produced sugar, decimal system, metallurgical processes but not everything. Credit for most maths and science goes to west.

@whale2710 It was actually use of zero in maths that was done by indians first. Not the idea of using symbol to represent zero. Well, symbolic representation isn't that much of aen innovation to begin with.

@orsoncart802 Well if you look at some of the primitive societies they still don't have any concept of numbers beyond 4 or 5. Representation is a hard task I believe. And it is near impossible that every society came up with decimal system independently. Just look at our clocks. 10, 100, 1000s aren't that intuitive. There must be one or two starting point. No more.

@stfuswapnil as in? a person who doesn't buy into the theistic idea of there being a divine being everyone is ought to worship? I don't. I ask this because some people use the word atheist to mean people who don't believe their ideas about metaphysics.
