  3. The average person will pay 45%, and on top of that you still have to pay income tax. About 100 years ago, tariffs made up the majority of the tax revenue, so we didn't have much income tax. Now, most people pay anywhere from 25% to 30% for income tax that is state and federal. From 1945 and onward, income went up and tariffs went down. As a result, we got cheap imports and higher income tax. If you have high tariffs and high income tax, PEOPLE WILL GET HURT.

  4. That is false. When we had a lot of tariffs in US history, WE DID NOT HAVE INCOME TAX. Most people pay anywhere from 25% to 30% in income tax every year. We have other taxes too, like property tax, sales tax, excise taxes, etc. This is why most people don't have a lot money, and this is why most people live paycheck to paycheck. If you want to add an import tax on top of all these other taxes, you will put a serious strain on the middle class and the poor.

  7. You are funny person. If you made shoes in the U.S.A., let's factor in the cost. The wage of an American worker is about $12/hr, and a wage of a Chinese worker is about $1.50/hr. That is a factor 8 times, so a shoe made in China costs about $20, you want to pay $160 for a pair of shoes? Car parts are made overseas as well. Let's say going to mechanics costs you $300, and the price price goes up 8 times or $2400. Gimme a break man, globalism is a good thing, it keeps prices down.

We live in a world where tariffs have gone up, and income tax is about 15% for Federal and 15% for state. Since most of what we use is imported, the price of everything has skyrocketed. For example, automobiles, there are a lot of imported parts that go into producing vehicles. Trump wanted to put import tariffs on goods from the Far East, most car parts are made in the Far East. As a result, the price of an average car is about $45k. Prices of appliances went up, and other durable goods also went up. On top of all that, we have inflation due to geopolitical instability.

All the foreign companies that put money into U.S. stocks, U.S. real estate, and other U.S. assets will pull their money out of the USA. A stock market crash will be coming. You don't think other countries and make their own tariffs against U.S. goods? The millions of Americans who work in companies that depend on exports are going to lose their jobs also. Most of these Trump supporters live in rural farming areas, so I guess they won't be able to make a living. They propped up the real estate market and stock market for about 10 years. If they pull all their money out of the USA, you will see a stock market crash. You're pensions, mutual funds, and 401ks will crash. If you don't believe me, you can go ask your mutual fund manager if the market crashes. Can I get my money out? If you are getting money from them already, they will reduce what you get. So, the money you get from your 401k will be less and less every month. More American jobs will be lost, think about the jobs that depend on exporting things, like airplanes, vehicles, industrial machinery, agricultural goods, chemicals, lumber, minerals, etc. These industries will suffer too, and they will lay off millions of Americans like you.
