@kidchaos1313 Then, the USD will become toilet paper. 🤣

@billschindler1381 I don't think EVs will replace IC vehicles. EVs do have a place. I think engineers have to develop EVs that uses a hybrid natural gas motor. Using the existing electrical grid to power EVs will be difficult to do, especially in the US. They need to come up with a more sensible plan to introduce other types of technologies, like hydrogen, natural gas, and find ways to generate electricity inexpensively.

If they make a law to limit credit cards interest rates to 10% then credit card companies will be very selective on who they give credit cards to. The amount of credit cards that are issued to Americans would decrease.

@ad6417 It isn't just people on welfare. People that have jobs can also have bad credit too, and I am sure there are many people like that in the US as well.

@AlliandRico The NSA knows everything about everyone They have the keys to all back doors to all the computers and smartphones in this country.

@wlonsdale1 You can't use encryption, because its embedded into every CPU, whether that be AMD, Intel, Qualcomm, or any US made microprocessor. There is a operating system that is running within every CPU. They say it automatically updates your CPU, but you have no control over it.

The problem is most of the items in the dollar store are more than a dollar.

@AlliandRico It is robbery. It seems most mericans are numb to it now. What happened in 2008 was robbery, private interests robbed the US taxpayer of billions of dollars.

@wagyu_killer The healthcare and MIC largely survive on govt money. I work in the healthcare industry processing medical records part time, and I know my job is safe. : )

@intothebeyond8763 The US still makes a lot of stuff, but most of this is from automated factories. Here is the problem, the price of labor in the US is too much. You can put tariffs in the US to block out all imports; however, you will not be able to export the stuff you make here if that product can be produced in other countries. If you produced a Iphone in the US, it would cost anywhere from $4,000 to $6,000. Very few people here can buy it, and no one around the world will pay that price.

@em34ev3r Sure, troll.

@SurpriseMeJT I live in Los Angeles.

@darrensadana6788 I cook and order food. It all depends on how much time I have in any given day. If I don't have a lot of time, I just order food. If I have a lot of time, I just cook it.

What is wrong with these people? Seriously, the people that run this country, the people that run the corporations. It seems like this country is being run by imbeciles.
1
@f0xixtaiail2000 I don't know how old you are. When I was growing up in the 1980s, most of the products were made in places, like Hong Kong, South Korea, Macau, Taiwan, and Japan

@opiesveiw266 All I can say is this, if you lose your job and lose your home, you will not have any power.
1
@jamesbecker3420 That is a safe job. People always get illnesses, and people always expire. If you're a MD, your job is safe. If you are in the funeral industry that is rock stable.
1
@jamesbecker3420 Your job is recession proof.
1
@Jrodzay I run a online business. I sell on many different platforms, like Ebay, Amazon, and others.

@AlliandRico When the equities market crashes, we are going to see more jobless people.

@Mikk-t2o The problem is a lot of parts aren't made in the US, so they have to be imported and assembled here. Transporting thousands of parts from various countries around the world adds to the cost of production. The industrial supply chain to produce all the parts that are necessary to build complete machines don't exist in the US, like it did back in the 1970s. If you put tariffs on all those imported parts then the cost manufacturing goes up in the US. In addition to that, the cost of labor in the US is the highest in the world.

The longest I ever held a job in my working career was about 5 years. This is why I always tried my best to save and invest as much of my income as possible. When a recession happens, I would just live off my savings until the recession ended. During a recession, you can buy stuff at lower prices, and inflation generally goes down. Save and invest money during the boom, and spend the money during the bust.

@cockyhemi I don't think you are as valuable as you believe you are. Corporate America will choose someone living in a developing country who will work for $2/hour vs. choosing you who will ask for $20/hour.
1
@cockyhemi If you want a factory job, maybe you can move to Mexico with your entire family. ROFL

Many years ago, my father told me not to talk about sensitive topics at your place of business or work, like talking about politics, race, religion, or personal beliefs, because those things can impact your business or career negatively. People will use this against you. It is very difficult to defend yourself if someone uses it against you.

One of my friends lost his job as a software developer about 6 months ago. He told me that he applied to more than hundreds of jobs, and he had spent 6 to 8 hours per day. He did get called a few times, but when he got to the company there were 200 people trying to get that one job. I told him, maybe you should look for a few jobs per month, and spend the rest of your time doing something more productive. Looking for a high paying job in a bad economy is like trying to mine for metals in a area which had already been depleted. There isn't a lot of opportunities, so people need to look for other opportunities. You could other platforms, like Linkedin, Monster, or other platforms to improve your odds. There is no guarantee you can find anything in this economic environment. If you have a lot of debts and expenses, finding a part time jobs would be a better use of your time.

@jimechols4347 It's a small operation, so I do all the work. It's a small engineering company.

@jimechols4347 This is a small engineering company, so I do most of the work myself. The profit margins are too low to hire anyone.
