  2. Landlords still have to pay property taxes, utilities, mortgage(if it isn't paid off), and maintenance fees. None of those costs are being deferred by local governments, or lenders. If this is allowed to continue then these landlords will be driven into foreclosure, lose their homes to the county for not paying property taxes, or they will be forced to sell. This will enable large investment firms to buy homes for cheap.
