Korea and Japan produce about 254,400/year, while China produces about 4.7 million STEM graduates per year. China produces 18.7 times more STEM graduates than S. Korea and Japan combined. China produces 10 times more STEM graduates compared to the U S. Those two countries can't compete against China. I don't buy many products from S. Korea or Japan these days. I used to buy Samsung SSDs, now I buy SSDs with YMTC 3d Nand chips. It's less expensive, and it is as good if not better. I would buy a Huawei smartphone instead of a Samsung phone. China can produce ships at a lower cost, so why should anyone buy ships from S Korea or Japan. I am ethnic Chinese, so I will always prefer Chinese products.

  10. I live in the US, and it isn't worth living here at all. I came here, because my parents immigrated here back in 1982. The US is completely a different place compared to 42 years ago. The quality of life has gone downhill. The cost of living has skyrocketed a lot as well, and it is not safe. If you are a skilled professional, you will find better options living in another country. If you can get a job in another country take it.

They would rather pocket the money than put into a infrastructure project that benefits the public. This is culture is very important. Chinese culture is about meritocracy. This is why they had the Civil Service Exam. Anyone that can that exam could raise their social status. India is a country that has a caste system which offers no social mobility.

Zimbabwe asked China to build them a lithium processing plant, and China built them one. Indonesia asked China to build them a nickel processing plant, and China did that too. This gives those countries leverage. They can process those resources and charge a higher price. No W-es-te-rn country would do that.
