  4. The damage is done. China already has a license to produce X86 chips Zhaoxin, they haven't been developing high end chips, because they were able to buy inexpensive AMD and Intel chips. Now, China isn't going to stop developing their chips, they will develop it and they will catch up. Chinese chips will be a direct competitor to US chip companies around the world. This will take away market share from US semi conductor companies weakening them, and cutting them off from the Chinese market.

  5. The difference between the West and Russia is this. Russia didn't follow the neo-liberalism economic model, so they didn't sell off their defense industry in the past 32 years. The defense industry was preserved by the government. On the other hand, in the West and the US, these industries went out of business, and merged with bigger companies. This created monopolies, and inefficiencies. We are seeing the consequence of this now.

In the Vietnam, the U S lost about 8,500 aircraft from rotor to fixed wing aircraft. A lot of American vets that went to Ukraine were surprised that they were getting hit with heavy artillery, missiles, drones, and bombed. Such a thing never happened in Afghanistan and Iraq. LOL

When a war breaks out, people are forced to fight in them. It is not a matter of choice. It is a binary choice, you fight for your survival or perish. It would be like someone being thrown into an arena in ancient times.
