@imjashingyou3461 I don't think J-10s, J-11s, and J-20s are old. Even the JH-7 attack aircraft which are old are still very capable naval attack aircraft.

China was a poor and underdeveloped country in 1894, and in 1937. You mean round 3. You had two Sino-Japanese Wars (1894 to 1895), and (1937 to 1945). Today China is not poor, nor is it underdeveloped. Let's see how well the Japanese fight in a fair fight.

@imjashingyou3461 Only 4 out of the 62 destroyers in the PLA navy are the outdated types. The Rest are Type 052 to Type 055 destroyers which are pretty modern.

@42VS42 China can make semiconductor chips which is based on its own technology, like the Loongson family of semiconductors. China just released the Shanghai Micro Electronics Equipment (SMEE) 28nm DUV lithography machine to make semiconductors. Only 3 countries in this world can produce ballpoints for pens. China, Japan, and Switzerland. China isn't technologically backward. The Japanese economy has been anemic for the past 33 years.

@imjashingyou3461 Only 489 out of 3500 aircraft in PLA Air Force are Mig-21 variants (J-7). The 3011 other aircraft aren't Mig-21 or Mig -19 variants. There are zero Mig-19 variants in service in the PLA Air Force today.

@scottkrater2131 China produces a lot of vital things, like rare earth minerals, electronic components(resistors, transistors, circuit boards, capacitors, switches, sensors, etc), most of the RISC processors used in appliances, SBCs, guided missiles, automobiles, brakes, drones, etc are all made in China. I am engineer, I import a lot of electronic components from China, like power supplies, circuit boards, capacitors, resistors, all kinds of RISC chips, microcontrollers, single board computers for industrial computers, etc. Most of the rare earth minerals used in US smart weapons are imported from China. A lot of the parts used to assemble US smart weapons are made in China. You're really funny. ROFL

@scottkrater2131 Didn't you hear, TSMC said they will delay contruction of their chip fab in Arizona? Intel announced they are halting construction on their chip fab in Ohio due to a lack of funding and demand. Chinese propaganda? You don't believe me, that is what is happening. Besides, those chips that Intel produce are high end chips that use a CISC architecture. They aren't used in appliances, automobiles, guided missiles, drones, etc. There is no Intel or AMD chip in any drone.

@Xaitis Foxconn another Taiwanese company, like TSMC promised to build a factory in Wisconsin. They promised to hire over 10,000 people in 2017, it's 2023 and they have less than 1000 people working there. There is talk that this factory will be closed down. TSMC put a halt on their factory construction until 2025, and when 2025 they will make another announcement. We will start construction in 2030, like Foxconn did. I don't think TSMC will go through with it, like Foxconn, because it isn't profitable. Also, TSMC will not give up their technology which is a prerequisite for receiving those tax breaks.

A country that didn't have any aircraft carriers 11 years ago now have three aircraft carriers. Who knows how many they will have in 10 years from now.

Kelly Bono About 23 years ago, China couldn't build destroyers, frigates, corvettes, or ocean going ships. The PLA navy can produce coastal defense missile boats to aircraft carriers. A country that was building cheap plastic things can build computer processors, state of the art fighter aircraft, all types of ships, etc. I wouldn't underestimate em. In 10 years, I think they will be the number one economy in this world.
