  1. There is no food crisis in China. With the BRI, China can import all the food it needs. Inexpensive Chinese farm machinery is exported to countries in the Global South in Latin America and Africa. They in turn grow food with those agricultural machines and chemical nitrate based fertilizers. In fact, China is importing a lot of inexpensive food, and helping countries in the global south as well. It's a win win.
