@OVOD.net Before the 1960s, homosexuality was diagnosed as a mental illness in the West. Alan Turing, who was a famous mathematician was charged with homosexuality in the United Kingdom in 1954. He was chemically castrated, and he committed suicide shortly after. Even in the USA, homosexuality was diagnosed as a mental illness.

LOL. This will be quite a surprise to the Democrats that the Communists didn't like gays. I saw a documentary about Fidel Castro, and he hated homosexuals as well. LOL

@Rich a lot of these communist countries turned into dictatorships. I guess, homosexuality being condemned and outlawed largely depended on the leaders of these communist countries. In some Communist countries, like Vietnam it wasn't outlawed.

@CyrilViXP I peoples attitudes on homosexuality has changed a lot compared to the people who lived in the 1900s, 1920s, 1930s, 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. About 100 years ago, most people were not as politically correct as they are now.
