Years of defunding public education is what caused this mess. I know a lot of people are angry due to structural unemployment caused by automation which started in the late 1970s. We went from a industrialized economy to the information age starting from the 1980s to the present. If you did get a good education and finished college, life is better in general. For those that didn't, they are stuck in life of part time, temporary, and Gig work with no future. A lot of people got angry enough to vote for a known con man, like Trump. In the information age, the more you know the more opportunities you have. It is what it is.
