As a result more than 10 thousand workers in both companies got laid off. His stupid policies resulted in other manufacturers to move their production overseas to get around his tariffs. Now he is threatening to cut off subsidies for electric cars? That will result in more layoffs from companies that produce electric vehicles. The man is someone who doesn't understand economics, and this is why this clown went bankrupt 6 times.
