It is hard. I lost my main job 2 years ago, and now I have 3 part time jobs. One processing medical records, another washing dishes, and another as a waiter. All low paying jobs, and the income from all 3 is a quarter of what I earned 2 years ago. I am glad, I didn't get married and have children. I was 48, so it is very difficult to find a good job at my age. Also, the economy is bad now.

@smcdonald9991 My mom said, you graduated from university, and you wash dishes!!!!!! This isn't the first time I did menial jobs. Back in 2009, I found 2 part time jobs after I got laid off. I found a part time job at a warehouse and another one as a waiter.

@Klarence75 It's nature. A man's value is in his ability to work, and that diminish with age. Your cognitive abilities decline with age, your strength also diminishes with age. For women, their beauty diminishes with age. A 40 year old woman has less value compared to a woman in their 20s and early 30s.
