  4. I am Middle easterner, and you are slightly mistaken yes its a proxy between Saudi and Iran, but neither can or wants to establish a caliphate. The Saudis Islamically can they control the two holy sites excluding Jerusalem the third one but mecca and Medina are more important yet they didn't because the royal family us only concerned about their wealth and staying in power in fact as I would recall there was a international Islamic call for a caliph and the Saudis declined that was in the early 1900s after the collapse of the Ottoman caliphate also Iran is as nationalist as they are religious plus they are Shia only 10-15% of the Muslim population is Shia the rest are sunni so its really just a power struggle between them our caliphate will only inshallah come when the Saudis and Iranians are out of power then we would unite the Muslims and became a powerhouse. And yes I want a caliphate our only time of prosperity was under the caliphate when we are divided and ruled by petty goverments whether pathetic pan Arabic socialist ones (Ba'athists) or religious goverments pretending to care about Islam then proceeding to bomb or start/contribute to a civil war in Said Muslim nation like what the Saudis and Iranians are doing eith Yemen, Syria, Iraq and Libya but they are not as involved in libya with petty western borders we are ultimately going to have civil wars and not be able to educate ourselves and progress in terms of say technology or military not ideologically our belief is the same it doesent change. As An Arab it always fascinates me how close Middle easterners are to Europeans i mean the indo Europeans literally migrated from the steppes to the Middle east to Europe and even when you look at Arabs mainly Levantines like me a Palestinian-Syrian i have Arabian features like Peninsuilar Features like my Nose, Thick Eyelashes, Round eyes, Having a Moustache at 14 while having some European like features for example very light skin white if you may consider it and Blond or Brown or Dirty blond hair depending on how you see it while my sister is full blond yellow haired and we both have freckles and oddly i dont have the usual thick eyebrows that is found within Arabs and semites instead i have a straight sharp eyebrown that is not too tall or too short with a curve at the end though i dont really care about all that i just care about the fact that we Arabs and semites can grow hair and beards before Westernerbut southern Europeans are of same proportions also we are both caucasoid as in we both have the Caucasoid skull.

Also I am pretty sure that a Arab Muslim would get more rights in Tel Aviv than in Ahvaz. Quite frankly I am glad that Iran and Israel are fighting to me its two enemies fighting exhausting each other.

  7.  @kevinyonan2147  Well yes that is true but the thing if you read about the Islamic golden age most of the innovation and arts/literacy were from the Muslims i mean it wouldn't be called Islamic golden age if most innovations were coming from non-Muslims no its the opposite the Muslims were the ones who were contributing the most in terms of innovation and that is because believe it or not the early Arab Muslims had a liking to science and well knowledge that's why when the Arabs who are mostly illiterate Dessert and town dwellers who conquered vast amounts of the civilized world they would always ask them the educated non-Muslim non-Arabs to teach them how to read, write or how to understand this or that and yes its true that a huge portion of their science was derived from non-Muslims but the thing is that is a good thing since they would take old Greek mathematical or sometimes scientific theories and improve/correct on them while creating new things in terms of biology, math and more also yes a lot of knowledge did also come from non-Muslims with education who eventually converted and had continued their tradition of education truth is many verses in the Quran would praise gaining knowledge first word that Gabriel told the Prophet (pbuh) was read and the prophet (pbuh) i am not a reader since most Arabs and people at that time weren't literate because they didnt have the capability or access so point is this shows the importance of reading and in general gaining knowledge in the Quran and in Islamic Tradition and also in the Islamic golden age its in the Arab Empires/Caliphates that Arabs became the most educated, innovative and prestigious in the world and its where the importance of the Arabic language started to arise as the Muslims would translate many books and works of Science/literature from other countries and languages to Arabic and because of the importance of Arabic within the caliphate many Greeks and Persians with knowledge of other languages started to publish and translate books to Arabic increasing the importance of Arabic in terms of Science and literature so yeah your right i am just giving slightly more details and i am adding into what you were saying i really we hope We Arabs and Muslims as a whole could re-create our amazing civilization that united us instead of Plunging ourselves into more disunity and conflict. As an Arab i couldnt have said it better my self, we are a large group of people united mostly by culture, language and to some extent religion since there are many Arab christians that are treated equally by Arab Muslims they are not considered to be less Arab on the contrary i have a Jordanian most likely Orthodox christian friend that speaks Arabic with the dialect and that celebrates his countries independence day even though a Islamic monarch the Hashemites descendants of the prophet (pbuh) rule it he would even wear Arab clothes and the arab headgear on that day to celebratr his country getting independence from christians (The British) which to me shows that this connection between Arabs also shares the dislike of Europeans and Americans every Arab i know including me hates America and we are justified for it though like you said we also hate the current countries and their ruling elites also the Skyes picot agreement has been another source of trouble when ISIS started invading they on tape were at the Syrian-Iraqi border where they removed the barbed wire seperating the countries then they talked about colonialism and how they are removing Europran drawn borders and are uniting the people which is unironically what most Arabs tried to achieve first with Pan-Arab nationlism post ww2, 50s and 60s with the Ba'ath party lead by Gamal abd al nasser gaining momentum but they failed then after secular nationlism came a strong religious revival in which radicals took advantage of and had tried to unite the Arabs through that and it led to even more chaos. It's apparent that the source of conflict is disunity and Skyes-picot, which divided people and put other people who dont like each other together.

Even as a Muslim I always found the Christian view to be historically intresting, I of course disagree on many topics but thats not the thing the only thing As christianity and Jesus has a place Islamically and in the Quran, non theless we both worship the god of Abraham in our own way. I have 3 Arab christian Friends in a majority Arab Muslim school and everyone gets along, you can almost tell no difference between the Arab christians and Muslims. They both say well not very apropriate words, they both like football and they both despise Arabic class (yes even us Arabs who know the language find Arabic hard) also both of them always want to play football (the real football where we actually use our foot not our hand for 95% of the game), the local dialects are similar and each one respects the other and oh yeah everyone is racist like they would insult white people, black people, brown people everyone even other Arabs, If I am being honest I might have partaken in the racism but thats another thing. edit: (non of this is relevant to the video I just wanted to share my experience with my fellow Arabs who are: racist, say not very nice words and love football (the actual football)

Well about Islam it clearly respects Science i mean one just has to look at the old Caliphates and the amazing inventions like Algebra, many modern Surgerical tools that we currently use, the study of the Eye which gave way to the invention of the Camera, first continous University in mid 9th century by a Muslim women alot of innovations also first word angel Gabriel told to Mohammed (pbuh) was read which would emphasize the importnace of reading as well as knowledge and there are hadiths and Verses in the Quran that show us the importance of science i mean i come from a religious Muslim family my father is a religious Muslim yet he graduated in Imperial college London with a masters degree on Aeronotics engineering and he really cares about science and well Math but he cares about religion more though that doesent mean he doesent care about knowledge if anything he really cares about it he even teaches my sister math and science since 3rd grade till now she's grade 6 now he knows that she can marry and have her husband provide for her when she grows up yet he is still insistent on teaching and educating her and sending her to college/university same with me also no offence but in the first 400 years of Islam the most important innovations that pretty much affect our world and western civilization since the renaissance started when science as well as arts an literature brought from the crusaders has been one of the factors with the renaissance also the amount of Innovations and things create by the Muslims just after they started in a span of just a few centuries is Insane if you would take a glimpse at it.

Whats even weirder is that me An Arab, I have grown to really appreciate German culture, language and Empire and to me Bismarck is one of my favourite Historical Generals and is someone who i have alot of respect for and also i really like the German Empire and the one that Formed it as well as its predecessor Pruessen.   23. @Prasanth Thomas thats not true Many Muslims are also educated in the Arab world also Christians in Syria especially are mostly Urbanized and they make a Minority usually 1/10th in places like Syria or egypt while the Muslims spread all over the country in the cities and in the rural areas also under periods of European colonization they were perfered over the Muslims and also they have a higher incentive to go to the christian west than for a Muslim also today at least thats not the case at all in my class for example we have 3 arab christians 1 of them is the very smart guy the next is Average and the other is below Average while with the Muslims who are the majority same pattern smart kids, average and then below Average even in egypt where a scientist won a noble prize was a Muslim not a coptic christian also the Christians themselfs some of whom are descendants of Italians and Greeks whom have settled in the Levant at one point or the other also you lack any evidence i mean that woouldve been believable in the 1900s but today no.

In your map of Orthodoxy is wrong, i mean Albania is more than 50% Muslim like half of Muslim the rest are atheist and few Christians same with Bosnia Half Muslim and rest is Serbo-Bosniak orthodox like 25-35% and then the rest in the west is Bosniak-croat Catholic like 15-25% then Kosovo is like 90% + Muslim and alot of Muslims in North Macedonia and Bulgaria.

I will do it anyways: As a conservative Caliphate-restorationist I am telling you that there isnt anything in Islamic theology that is against industrialization or or technological development (though not too much development where cease to exist). You dont have to be moderate to industrialize but you need to have the will to do it. I envision a well industrialized, Prussia like caliphate where the shariah is applied as the offical legislative system for Muslims and christians can follow what the church tells them or what their bible tells them to do. Some christians might even be goverment officals loyal to the central goverment that being the caliphate. The Quran is not against science also how did they apply scientific values to the quran? Its a religious book, it doesent tell you what particles or the Nucleus is. The work of science can be seperate from that of religion and thats okay so long as scientists dont create nukes or alter ones nature like plastic surgery or cloning or some other messed up things. Also how do you develop a theory which is not even confirmed then apply it to a religious book, you are just rethrashing whatifalthist arguements I hate it when westerners think they know exactly what they are talking about when it comes to us. I envision a caliphate similar to but more traditional to 1950s America and the good thing about shariah is that due it becoming state law and legislation any bad cultural norms can repressed by the word of god which stands supreme.

Even though I am a Arab Muslim living in the middle east and even though i am 15 I also feel the same and the truth is that its not really about missing the past but your childhood i felt much happier in my childhood when I was much more creative bright and I was much more ignorant but now I am aware of history, present, politics, demographics and more and its the self awareness that made me sad and its the change that also made me sad as I miss when things were simpler, for me this "Nostalgia" is just a yourn for the childhood as it occurs when some grows up its basically a negative reaction to growing up in my experience I mean i like to grow up but i also miss oldd things, so in Conclusion its this innocent clueless childhood where we experienced most of our happiness that we miss which is of course a negative or opposite reaction of growing up which is evidenced by newtons third law of motion: "Every action has an equal and opposite reaction"

  51.  @StephensCrazyHour  Well I mean that's not really the only reason, in all battles against the Arabs both the Byzantium's and the Persians outnumbered the Arabs by a lot and they had much better technologies so it wasn't that the Arabs outnumbered them and had a advantage over them no they were severely disadvantaged even after fighting the Byzantium's the Persian Army outnumbered the Arab Army and had a Numerical superiority as well as a technological one, the Arabs were like the Mongols they were both Nomadic warriors now the Arabs they were mostly led by Urban city people from Mecca and Medina as were the first Muslims but for the most part they were nomadic warriors who were used to the dessert as well as Flat planes so to them going through Egypt, Mesopotamia as well as the Fertile crescent was easy especially since they are familiar with most of the geography its also they were stopped in Anatolia they weren't familiar with the Anatolian Geography.

It was under the caliphate that texts were translated into arabic and where works of art, literacy and more were done in Arabic. The Caliphate brought the apropriate conditions for innovation to take off so while Iranians did contribute they did so under the banner of either Islam or under the decent circumstances that the Abbasids and Umayyads offered. Why didnt the Iranians under the Sassanids do the same thing? or how come Greek works were better used in the Islamic world that in Byzantium where even they admitted that they lacked behind, so in summary it was the Arabs who were illiterate who then Islamized their conquered subjects who were then able to in one unified central state innovate. Attributing it only the Iranians while ignoring Andalusia or the Translated Greek texts and the will of the caliphs to expand in terms of science and translate foreign texts and work on what was already established and more while ignoring some of the Arabs who contributed would be ignorant.

No offence there a lot of Biases especially when you talk about Western civilization and compare it to the Islamic civilization also you say that Christianity is better for women and Islam is much worse i mean that's a Bias and not a true one i mean did a wife in Britain have a right to inheritance in Britain before 1870? no which is because Britain was applying Christian laws at the time and also in Christianity general a wife does not inherit her Husbands nor does she have any kind of right for inheritance and also i doubt the daughters of a deceased man get any inheritance or property maybe at times but it rarely happens meanwhile in Islam the Quran states that a wife with a deceased Husband with no children she can inherit half of his Property and in general what he owns also in Islam anything of Property that a Woman owns is for her so when a father died and he has sons and daughters his wife would most likely take a quarter then when it comes to his daughters and sons well his son would take double of what his daughter would take thats because the son is expected to spend that money on his family his wife and kids providing them what they need and want from food to a house for them to sleep and stay in to education to Groceries, then on Zakat, then on his relatives if they need help starting from his parents then to his aunts and Uncles and Cousines then to his Close friends while the daughter who inherited half of what her brother inherited gets to keep that money and spend it on what she wants since thats her own personal property that she gets to keep for her and only her meaning no expenses on her maybe just Zakat which is 2.5% of your money to the poor and needy yearly but even that has a specific timing and demands like for a person to give Zakat he needs to have at least this amount of money for a year before he is able to give Zakat also that applies to the mother who inherited the Quarter thats her property as well but to a man no he has to spend it on neccesary things meaning he cant really spend it on what he wants. Also a Muslim woman once married to a Muslim man has a right to a Dowry which can be a Gift or a sum of money or a necklace made of Gold or a Diamond Ring things like this and also he has to pay for the wedding and unlike Western nuclear families the Money a father makes is what he must spend on his wife and Children and if he does not provide enough for them then a wife can complain at him in a Islamic court and allah would judge him that is if he has enough money but is too greedy to spend but if he is Poor in the first place then tough luck i mean no he is not blamed for anything and wife cannot complain or report him in a Islamic court it only applies if a Husband with enough money to provide purposely out of greed doesent provide that he can be charged with prison for that.

In Jordan they will continue to accept foreign aid and few arable land near the river makes them slightly self reliable and as long as the goverment is there and country is stable food supply wouldn't be a problem. Israel country which I hate can pretty much support themselfs with ever lasting US support also plenty of arable land and pretty advanced technology the Palestinian territories can make food themselfs and be supported by Israel who would of course keep sending settlers and would keep the goverment in order to control the Palestinian population as its much easier to occupy them and piss them of even more. In Lebanon they have no dessert and are entirely mountainous with farmland that they can utilise upon pulling themselfs out of their crisis. Only real problems are in Egypt with 100m living in the only Arable strip of land with 100s of Miles all around them sand and with small pot of Arable land bring dry's up as Ethiopia build their dam and with Yemen with a high population, few arable lands more than Saudi but still few and is in war torn status with children currently starving to death. That is my take on the situation so these Famines are a possibility and are not all over the middle east only in some countries. Also refugees only went yo Europe because they allowed them or at least thought so and they didn't go to Saudi or try to seek refuge because the Saudi goverment will deport them and they know it so its not really what you think. Christianity has been reforming and changing since it started with so many councils and so many European Powers came and also with the catholic church its easily changeable but Islam is the same from start till now and in-fact if anything today i see Arabs around me more conscious of their religion and of themselves than before while some of them would become more westerner (Consumerists, busy on Entertainment and having time for fun only) no offence but thats what most of you are doing for the vast majority of time, so no we will not ''reform'' as in change our holy scripture its the same since it came down from god while the bible was divinely inspired so it will keep changing and by ''reform'' you mean accepting gays and banning all Hijab and being secular thats your definition of it well some Arab countries are applying it and populous sure is demanding a caliphate more than ever before i can say its coming and not it wont be ''secular'' i have no problem with science it does not conflict with the Quran but what does are Gays, immorality and unmodest Men and Women both are equally responsible for modesty.

  119. About the Islam part, well as a An arab Muslim let me clarify so you are kind of wrong. What you showed was only regarding Iran who is one of the few shia states while other countries shia or sunni have more rleigiousity. Actually many Syrians and other arabs didnt start wearing hijab properly until recently, now is it (faith/religiousity) lower? Well it fluctuates from time to time but faith in Islam had not crumbled only in iran maybe but other places people are still devoted. From what I am seeing, there is a strong resurgence actually no kidding there is a resurgence from one group in the youth and a decline in another group though overall it varies and fluctuates. Even if there was a decrease religiousity will come back either ways and it will never exceed a certain low especially when we believe that god sends a good righteous believer every 100 years to re-kindle faith in Islam.

Trust me in the middle east we are also dumber than our ancestors, A millenia ago was our glory the height of our civilization now we are just living in western civilization with a western curriculum and for the most part western styled governments. I hate many things that the west had done in terms of politics and say history with you know invasion of Iraq, creation and funding of Israel colonization and betrayl of the British who promised a unified state instead lied to us, split our countries into pathetic borders creating artifical countries and made people loyal to these artifical countries they also did some bad combinations like in Iraq they mixed the Arabs: Sunnis and shias together and also the Kurds as a third minority well look how that played out then in Syria you have the Alawite shia minority (10%) controlling that is 75% sunni and that also ended with a disaster and multiple massacres from the alawite dictator and his father then Israel yeah no comment we all know what they did. On the other hand I really appreciate the west for advances in Science and other fields. I appreciate how they have done extended research about middle eastern history and origins and how they have come with conclusions regarding our history, geography or function that none of us (middle easterners) are aware of. Also I appreciate the US fight against the demonic ideology that is communism sure the US is not religious at least in comparison with any middle eastern, African or Latin American country but in the end the US form of secularism allows for actual freedom like I can freely practice my religion as in I can pray and read the quran and I can wear religious like clothing without any hesitation. Unlike other forms of secularism like how the French think that not letting Christians wear a cross or Muslims wear a hijab in their jobs or in school is a good thing because they believe in ''freedom from religion'', I still cant believe that these guys are the descendants of the crusaders lol not Even crusaders would never do that. I still hate the crusaders for all the massacres and ethno-religious violence towards us be it in Iberia or the Levant or even Sicily but at least they are religious and at least they would have more respect to us and at least they have are disciplined warriors with a strong belief(be it with us or against us) unlike some degenerate atheist redittor in his mothers basement not generalizing atheists but generalizing redditors who overestimate their intelligence and themselfs. As a Palestinian-Syrian (Levantine for short) arab Muslim, I believe in modernization as in industrialization and advancement in technology for the sake of the caliphate thats right I dont believe in modernity, we shouldnt give up our social values and change them with not even western ones but post modern western ones. The same people that spoke against European Imperialism in the Arab world like Saddam Hussein or Nasser are European imperialists themselfs for trying to copy the European social order not technological but the social way of Europe. With Technology I believe that it doesent matter who has it be it you or your enemy you can always use it as it technically doesent belong to you or to anyone specifically I believe in the creation being seperate from its creator just because Nazi scientists helped you Americans get to the moon doesent meant you will start following their ideology as you only appreciate the creation not the creator in terms of humanity not god because when we talk about god we praise him the creator not the creation (humans). Technology is unlike culture or social values that are espoused especially to you and only you. I believe in a united caliphate industrialized, militarized with a conservative society. Christians and Muslims (especially those from the same ethnicity) would get along you wont believe how well us Arab Muslims and christians get along at least in my and many other peoples experiences. I am a revivalist I dont believe in the Liberal project or in western (modern secular democratic unity) or in Eastern (Also modern to some extent secular more in the sphere of Russia, China and the eastern nations) I believe in being our own order. America is not strong becuase of their army (well they are but thats not my point) their power comes from their influence. The whole world uses their money, the whole world cares about their election, the whole world follows their youtubers, play their games and wear their clothes. I believe in us becoming that out own order one that influences the world that is real power. The UN what is seen as international is actually a western (more or less American) invention that influences the world. The US is really powerful and I hate/not really hate the US like in terms of goverment I despise every (recent) American politican but in people well there are 336m Americans from all backgrounds and cultures and many of them are actually nice but sadly easily manipulated so no I dont hate the US populace only the goverment and maybe the zionist lobby as well.

  125. As a Levantine Arab Sunni Muslim I can relate to some extent. I am not struggling my self but my countrymen who are struggling its pretty much our faith what is helping us cope, the quran repeatedly tells us that life is a test and that we must cope and have faith in allah and be thankful no matter what and that hard times are going to occur and that we must just live through him and resist. We dont have any type of hedonistic or saddness but sort of toughness that prepares us for the world I am guessing thats what the American conservative ideology is partially about. We are closer than you think, remember that.
