No that's not true, that's not how most Christians converted, In fact even if this did happen on a massive scale it was for a short time during the ottomans in thr ballance other Arab caliphate never did that and btw the reason why there are many Muslims in the balkans well for the Bosniand they were at conflict with both major churches in Europe you know Catholic and orthodox Church and they wanted more benefits so Idlam fit them well them and many other Serbs also the ottomans ruled over the balkans for a long time they could have just massacred all Greeks and slaves orthodox Christians but they never did unlike charlemagne who Massacred the German pagans and many just naturally changed from Christianity to Islam what you said was true but on very small scale and boys taken were young like not infants and were given good positions in military ranks as they were skilled fighters or goverment positions so it's like th le US goverment abducted you to put you in the Army or give you a goverment position if your smart or intelligent, though with the ottomans again small scale and didn't last long and wasn't why many Christians became Muslims.

France were not the good guys, your talking aboutnthe colonisation of Algeria which killed 5m+ people by massacres throughout a 150+ years of colonisation it was brutal and disgusting sure there were pirates but driving the entire native population of Algeria to near extinction is not a good justification.
