Andrews Godfray I'm not so sold on electric cars. Battery recycling is going to kill us some day. It's already playing hell with China and anywhere they recycle and dispose the waste. Battery cars will multiply this by millions.

Neojhun I do agree oil production is very harmful when done without consideration, which unfortunately happens a lot. But,, hate to say it but no matter what we say as average consumers, it's going to continue. We should bitch to high heaven the improper drilling and mining habits greedy companies use. Just don't think battery is the way to go. Remember the era where a way more fuel efficient engine could be produced. But no,, not money making for auto companies and oil producers. Look how much batteries cost today. Big bucks. Any wonder the auto companies are OK with batteries? After all, no CEO lives near a battery landfill.

Manufacturing s not the problem.. Disposal is. There's always waste that's toxic. That's what I'm against.

Sure, I would love to see safe energy of any kind, with no toxic waste aftermath. But we know it doesn't take much multiplied by the millions of potential vehicles ,just as hand tools, cell phones and other battery waste materials, to polute what's left of any clean environment left to the lower income, animals and any not millionaire people to live toxic free. I'm sure the rich, just as in safely from nuclear war capabilities, can buy toxic free places to live out their precious lives. But the rest of us are fair game to have toxic dumps in our back yards.

We have property in our town that housed a type of materials development. When found to have been producing a toxic residual material they bull dozed the structure and that was years and years ago. Today there's no structure allowed on that site. No one knew till it was discovered. We need to be vigilant about producing non toxic ways of energy etc, not allow more and more, just for our convienince.

Andrews Godfray No, I believe instead of giving huge checks to upper echelon people making millions a year salary, they use that money towards safer pollutant removal. Not just shove it in a barrel and dump it in caves or the oceans etc. Greed is the big killer.

Andrews Godfray Well, it is no big surprise the 1% always lobbies for less regulations. Well, some of the 1%. There are exceptions. Most of us don't care. Till a sink hole happens in our backyard, we don't consider water issues. Until they run high voltage lines over our houses and our light bulbs glow even if off, we don't worry about our overuse of power. We are getting into a throw away society more and more. And nothing matters as long as it ain't us. I'm just glad there are people who care. And care openly.

Very interesting. I'm sure they will do fine, but yes, competition does spread the wealth.
