Awwww, little Herman is a real sweetheart 🕊️💞. We've raised 2 birds. A Blue Jay and a mockingbird. And yes, they can definitely show love 💕, no doubt about it. Ours both flew away after about 4 months. Y'all are so wonderful taking him in and giving him a beautiful life. Your hearts are huge ❤

Oh my yes, we know exactly how you feel. We raised a squirrel that i saved from a neighbors cat. My son named him Spock, after obviously after star trek Spock. He became a family member very soon after about a week. Bottle feeding him then moving to solid food. We were his family. I actually had to teach him to go into a tree, by climbing it and calling him. From then on, we had to go out with him to watch him play in the trees. Then inside at night to dine and sleep. He always went to bed in his nest he actually built himself on a hat tree with a towel i tried on it. As soon as it became night he'd go in his bed. Finally after about 18 months he went out on the front porch and climbed up the tree and we didn't see him again. I'd like to think he found a girlfriend. Our neighborhood has dozens of trees around our house and beyond. We will never forget Spock. So I know exactly what you are feeling. 🌹🐿️

They are very interesting little animals. They're always here in our area. I'll pop out at night to find one or more on the porch eating the cats food. The babies are adorable. If anyone could turn away a baby, has no heart. I'm surprised a mama would lose or abandon a baby, unless startled and took off. But if it made your life and his better...it was fate. Enjoy your little one. Love has no prejudice. Take care 😘

We've had a few wild birds. But never a pigeon. And do know they can get very much in your heart. I was heartbroken when a bluejay we raised from a featherless baby, drowned in his little bowl pool 😢. It was so depressing because he was like 4 months old and was very knowledgeable about his bird bath bowl. We don't understand what happened. But we got so close to him, we were truly heartbroken. Ya think, how could a little bird get so endeared to you. So we know how you feel. They truly surprise you with their obvious love. Take care of your tiny one 💕

You are so right about squirrels. We raised a boy from a hairless, eyes closed, tiny cat grabbed play toy. We were the first things he saw too. It's called imprinting. You are their parents. And they will bond with you above all else. He was one of our kids. Until he got to be around 18 months and met an outsider girlfriend. It took him about 5 dates to know she was the one. And one night he didn't come in to sleep. That was it. But yes if you raise 2 or more inside, they'll stay totally satisfied being in. I worked for a lady that had 5. Inside squirrel kids. And one is plenty. 2 they keep each other company. That's the good part. Having someone your own size and speaks your language. That is just great. Enjoy um. They grow up fast.

You are so right. They definitely do better having a pal like them. Doggie, kitty. Someone their size or so. We're okay. But we're like parents. They're buds. Thank you for being that special parent for that special animal. There are more out there than we realize. And they need a home too. Please adopt a shelter animal. You'll be better for it. 💞

Possums are really misjudged little animals. Though I don't go to the degree of being welcoming into my house to them, I never hurt them and do go outta my way to feed them when I see um. I was a little too allowing of a raccoon and allowed her in our attic. They ended up chewing through a few places in our roof and caused leaks that caused much water damage. They got in through the soffit vent but ate through at least 3 spots through 1/2 inch plywood and shingles. We didn't catch it till damage from rain was caused. All because I was being nice and allowing them in the attic. Possums can climb pretty well too. But don't think they'll chew through your roof. I love letting them hang out and feeding them to help them. But don't underestimate their ability to do damage. They don't know they're doing anything wrong.

I have always thought about having acreage enough for any unwanted animals could live and be needed and wanted. Has to be one of the most beautiful things people can do. Thank you for your obvious caring 💞👍

They say crows are very intelligent. I raised a mockingbird from a hatchling. He bonded with me when he opened his eyes and I was his dad. I called him Peeps. He knew his name i assume, but maybe he just interacted with my voice and sight. I would come home from work and he would come to me peeping. Hence his name. He scared the crap out of me, on his first flight he just took off and missed the ceiling fan by inches. So it was time to go. Another week went by, i left the ceiling fans off. He'd fly to the loft, about 20 feet, and around the room. After that week we took his cage outside for the last time. I think I see him once in a while, but birds should be free to soar. If they are able. Tuck is a beautiful, awesome bird. You're lucky to have him in your life. And I'm sure he loves you and is so happy being your baby 💗. Thanks for letting us meet him.
