  1. Possums are really misjudged little animals. Though I don't go to the degree of being welcoming into my house to them, I never hurt them and do go outta my way to feed them when I see um. I was a little too allowing of a raccoon and allowed her in our attic. They ended up chewing through a few places in our roof and caused leaks that caused much water damage. They got in through the soffit vent but ate through at least 3 spots through 1/2 inch plywood and shingles. We didn't catch it till damage from rain was caused. All because I was being nice and allowing them in the attic. Possums can climb pretty well too. But don't think they'll chew through your roof. I love letting them hang out and feeding them to help them. But don't underestimate their ability to do damage. They don't know they're doing anything wrong.
