I think that even though Jimmy Carter was a naval officer and a businessman . He truly was a humanitarian. A farmer. Seeing the world from the eyes of the working man and woman. That's why corporate America wasn't happy with him and we ended up with a f,n b rated actor in the White House.

@vinista256 I agree with the total breakdown of your response. But most Americans don't dig that deep. And as you said, Reagan being an actor, gave him the ability to read a good script. I said during his time that this was his biggest part he ever played. And just as with trumps first time, people looking for the," savior", fell for it. Plus like you said, all the mess going on in the world, worked against Carter's more gentle, intellectual, handling.

@Repdem Any energy source is as safe as the people who run and maintain it. Carter didn't invent nuke power. But as the submariner on a nuclear submarine he saw first hand it's power to fuel ratio. People think batteries are the future now, yet you wait, the toxic leftovers of billions of battery waste, will not be a positive thing either. Besides, that was just a small part of Carter's thoughtfulness, that made him a good president. But, just like JFK, certain power people in the country didn't want to allow them a second term.
