When Mitch McConnell can stand in the public eye and say point blank, his job, during the Obama terms, was to oppose EVERYTHING, Obama stood for and to make sure, he was going to make Obama a 1 term president. Then to freeze him out of his legal opportunity to place a supreme Court justice, showed everyone listening, we will openly take any opportunity to stop justice. Buy placing as many right wing judge's as we can. Legally or otherwise. Since then and even before, the right wing machine has been in the habit of doing nothing to help the US, just take advantage of the rewards that come from making the rich, richer. I believe the forefathers meant to create a system of checks and balances, when creating the government. But when money is concerned, good intentions go out the window . Money buys votes. Takes a perfectly innocent man and turns him inside out. Then another and another. I'm sure it happened even way back then. It's just multiplied like the population. And the government grew. Now we have a system that doesn't even want to convict the scum of the earth, because he's rich and happened to win the white house. Trump was right when he said,. Way back when, they did things differently. I don't know what a country would have done with a crooked politician back in the 1700s. Maybe hung him? But now society is run by the rich. So only the poor and unfortunate get hung. While the wealthy get a fine and or a few months in rich boy jail. I'm not sure who's justice is most honorable. Maybe neither. But we need a more fair balance.
