  1. This is a huge problem in everyday life. We always hear, " Write your congressman, governor, etc". But we all know what happens for the most part. There's a staff of call recipients, letter readers in those offices that gladhand you, but really never do anything, unless you call back,over and over and over. Or write letters over and over and over. At least with a dedicated org, that has the ear of the Rep. Things could move faster and with more respect.

  2.  @Wud-f2r  Yes, I agree. I live in Florida and had to write my Mayor once afew years back, in regards to my SS payments. I came to the US from Germany at 4, back in 1956. My adopted father never filed for my citizenship card and my mom, didn't know it had to be done I guess. Anyway I never knew I wasn't a full fledged citizen until the army. And was flagged getting my top secret clearance as a radio operator. Anyway, after the army I just worked, raised my family and went about my life feeling I was a citizen. Right up until I semi retired at 68 and filed for SS. I was flagged again for lack of proof of citizenship. I had my," green card", but SS said that wasn't sufficient. I had to get adoption papers, and a file folder full of other evidence. After 2 years of doing all that, I contacted the Mayor. A Dem mayor none the less. She sent me a response, saying there was not much she could do because even though Florida said I was a citizen, it's on my driver's license, the US government said, we're not sure. Finally after 29 months and me writing to the head department of SS. Someone with a brain said yes I was a naturalized citizen and all I needed to show was the green card id shone at the beginning. I guess my point is. No matter who you write, in elected government. They don't do any more than they absolutely have to. Plus, because Florida is a Republican controlled state. I doubt Ron Desantrump would have done much for me. But ya never know.

  3. This price hike crap has been going on for decades. When I built my house in 1989. Roofing materials were so that I was able to shingle my roof for around 800 dollars. Then we had some kind of oil issue, forgot what it was, but everything oil related went through the roof. No pun intended. Paint thinner went from around 2 dollars a gallon, went to 20. Shingles went from 21 bucks a sq. To 22 dollars a bundle. Just 2 examples. When the oil issue disappeared, prices went down. But only a couple of bucks. Paint thinner was 18 a gal, shingles were 19 a bundle. So they basically stayed 60% higher than before the oil issue. And no-one did a damn thing about it.
