  1.  Couch Potato  His problem is,,, only my opinion,,,,but he's from a very red state, so in order to keep getting reelected, he has to show he's independent of the typical Dem in his thinking. These people in government have no other real skills, that they could make or have a cushier job in the private sector. With vacation time, perks, salary etc, they have paradise. They wanna keep it, damned the image.

  4.  @ShabazzTBL  Hes definitely an enigma. Maybe he figures if he loses to a real republican, it'd be just another district fully fledged to be in trumps pocket. This way there's a chance. You could well be right.

  5.  @ShabazzTBL  True, unfortunately, good deeds don't always make headlines for an iffy politician. Manchin is a news maker when he is doing bad or non Dem, procedures. Honestly, when u think about it, I can't recall anything he's done good, have you? He has to have done something beneficial , for his constituents.
