  1. That's great and I totally agree to the plan. But,,, I hope the administration does something to aid low income people in fuel price rise. Many of us just cannot afford 2 and 3 dollar fuel hike. We were having issues before. My work truck hasn't seen a full tank in years. You're right that oil companies or gas distributors are definitely taking advantage of our need. People who don't drive for their job or totally rely on a vehicle to work, can always sit there and tell others, move away from fossil fuel. U ride ur train or jump a cab, place to place. But hundreds of thousands of us use our vehicle for work and don't have the money or resources to go electric. It's all well and good to say,,, an idea,,, but implementing it is another.

  2. Problem is, many countries don't have the land mass or resources to make their own oil needs. Many European countries are going wind, solar etc. But you still need oil for many things. So, if they boycott, they'll be nothing.

  3.  @rainydaylady6596  Exactly. Just wait until the glut of expelled battery components start flooding landfills. And the leftover toxic chemicals leach into the water system. We'll be poisoning the earth from inside then. Sure burning fossil fuel isn't the best, but can be cleaned better. Maybe natural gas? But battery? I can't imagine that to be the all saving. Unless we have batteries with 0 toxicity. And I don't think so. Of course I'm no scientist. But I read an article years ago, about the fact that we send all our expelled computer parts to China. They put them in huge yards and children go through, scrounging for parts that are valuable to sell. In that they were getting sick from the old batteries leaching and other corrosive items in the computers etc. So I can't imagine the amount of disposable batteries waste, the US will be creating, when electric, goes wild.

  6.  @mee6606  You are right for peeps that drive from outta town to town every day alone in their SUVs, supersized pick-ups etc I'm only talking about those of us that work construction, lawn maintenance, etc. Most of us don't make big bucks but have to haul materials, tools and such, and drive vans and trucks that pull about 15 mpg. Maybe I'm being selfish, but we're not getting any comp for higher gas prices. And our customers don't want to pay it. Plus, there are poor or lower income folks that must use their vehicles as well. I'm not saying a blanket gas allowance. Just a gas card maybe for truly low income proving it. And not even large amounts, just so much to compensate for constantly rising gas prices. Either that or cap the profits of these greedy oil owners making billions in profits off a natural resource that truly belongs to the earth. It pisses me off that these people in the middle east or wherever oil is plentiful, live large off the resources while their people live like paupers. Aren't those resources theirs as well?
