  173.  @c.rutherford  I checked into his history and according to a Washington post article, his business was doing badly after he left the white house. So they did have to sell out. But it seems retirement pay of 200,000 plus a year, that's far from having to sleep in someones guest room, haha. And now after book sales and such, their worth is around 10 million. I think they bounced back. They say Bill Clinton had similar issues. But they were caused by legal bills. Buut then with speeches, book deals etc, they too are back in the black. We should all be so lucky 😊 But you are right in that, if you have plenty of bucks, you have a better shot at winning. Of course from what I've heard. Hillary out spent trump. But whether it's so, I'm not sure. It is sad that campaigns are so expensive. The money they all burn campaigning, is truly disgusting. Like the country couldn't find a better use for the millions they spend each, getting elected. Especially considering it's other people's money. I live in Florida, and got an email from a Dem in Pennsylvania asking for a donation. Just 5 dollars. But we get hit on 30 times a week, asking for 5 dollars. Sorry, that's an electric bill. And that's a week. It never ends. And I know the Republicans are worse. I made the mistake of answering one republican political ad. From that moment, I was a potential donor. I got begs from the Republicans too. But they ask for 250 bucks. Wow. I'm about ready to stop caring about politics. Too old for this crap.

  235.  @joelellis7035  Man, do you even see your comments and don't think they sound sadistic? If Rittenhouse would have been serious about just being an anti protester and not shooting anyone, he would have been unarmed. How the hell did he think police weren't there protecting the innocent? He didn't give a crap. Common sense is a huge factor of being a responsible gun owner. Hunting rifle or not. All your long, drawn out explanations about codes and legal regs for charging people for a crime, do nothing to explain the reason to why he just had to bring a damn assault rifle to a protest. Sounds like u envy ole Kyle. Going to action against those damned people out protesting. And no. I don't agree with violent protests, but I'll tell you. Just like with the school, or church or other nutbag shootings of innocent people. And nobody doing anything to curb gun ownership by nuts and over zealous police, pulling their guns at anything that suits them,,, violent protests seem to be the only thing that gets people's attention. But it still doesn't work. The NRA and gun sales by everyone that thinks, any minute I'll be blowing away some thug in my house or maybe a waiter at a restaurant that brings my soup late. That's what gun laws are supposed to protect against. What he maybe should have brought to the protest was his cell phone. Then when he saw someone doing something bad, he calls the cops, or shoots a video of them doing wrong. But no,,,he wanted to be a tuff guy. Maybe the bunch of us that see the wrong in the verdict, aren't because we are leftists, or legal scholars. But just people seeing the coming of the demise of democracy. By people taking the law into their own hands at every turn. His interview with fox clown, silver spoon Tucker C. , Showed me, he feels totally exonerated of any responsibility for what he did. Sure he said, if I had it to do again, I wouldn't have taken the gun, or gone. What else are you going to say. Ridiculous. He'll be running for a house seat in a few years. Crazy.

  322.  @johngabrielperez  Ya know, we could lose in 2020. But not just dems. We as in we the people. The Republicans in the house and senate play this as,,, revenge,, pay back for being duped in '16, whatever. Hopefully that's not true for supposedly intelligent, well paid adults in the house and senate on the dems side. We'll never know, because just as the Republicans seem to be glued to trumps extra long coattails, and sit there and deny any of the evidence,, the democrats seem to pleasure in the fact that all must be sincere and factual. Here's my take of Trump from the beginning. I never watched the TV show they did with him, but he's always seemed pompous and overbearing. No doubt his rich boy lifestyle. When he ran like most, it seemed a thing like most people who run for pres, so no big deal. Then he was the nominee. Oh well, no big deal, he ran on being unique and different than any other politician, so I figured, still if he gets in, we'll see. Give him a chance. Then the debates. He was pompous, arrogant, very crude and treated Hillary like dirt. And he lied about some things and dismissed other important issues like, oh well, I'm Trump and that's the way it is. Yet the Republicans in the hearings talk about decorum? Where was his? Where is his now? First rub Then the election and I don't know whether the electoral college is a good thing or not. But seems to me in an election,, popular vote wins. Sure, many were depressed a bit that Hillary won but because of the EC, she didn't. Okay he s in now, let's see that unique non politician at work. The first f, n thing he does is exactly what every other republican president has done,, give those millions in tax breaks to the wealthy. What do you know,, he's a politician. Lie # whatever. Healthcare, better than anything Obama dreamed of. 0. Lie # whatever. Then the wall. Was NOT supposed to affect us cause Mexico was gonna knuckle under to the deal maker, 0, lie # whatever. The list grows but work awaits. You can brag about a soaring economy and low unemployment. But do me a favor. Check out three or four articles about the economy thru Obama till now. Not after Obama, thru out. Then brag, because it's not a hell of a lot different, and, not as good as Trump promised,, lie # whatever. And that's on top of being the most disgusting president,, ever. That one he does win, hands down.

  359.  @michaelgl8516  I agree Ruth that Ukraine deserves to be a free government, if they wish. But since WW2, governments have made and signed agreements. We the people obviously aren't privy to every detail of. Or choose to check into. America cannot be responsible for policing every other country when they have internal issues. Like I said, we don't know all the reasons this situation escalated to it's present state. At least I don't, do you? I do know it's been simmering for years before now. I know too that before Zelenskyy, were other leaders, more in tune with Putin s ideals and maybe that's the problem. All I can say is, no-one is turning their heads and ignoring this. It's being dealt with daily. We, " the US", can legally only do so much. The Russian people have some say in this. As it grows, sentiment in Russia will move towards stopping it somehow. Hopefully. Aid is flowing in from everywhere. Help with weapons, and supplies are constant. And yes we can compare Ukraine to Afghanistan or the other countries we have been in. Those people are just as human as the Ukraine people. They desired freedom to choose their own government and lifestyle too. But sometimes in country traditions win out. And the standards stick. We're not the perfect example of perfect society, so we just don't have the right to put ourselves over the rights of other societies to be what they've been for centuries. This is why treaties and pacts are made between different countries. We have to abide by those pacts too. It's terrible what the citizens of Ukraine are having to live through. Just as for other countries that live in a dictatorship. But sometimes you have to watch from your border, help where you can to minimize strife. And hope in this case, the Russian people will do the right thing. Make him stop. He knows he can't win, at least whole heartedly. But we can't make the Russian people do what they won't do. No more than other countries telling us who we should elect or dump. We're all people of the world, true. But until every country signs some agreement to listen to us or someone else, every time there are conflicting views. We have to do what we're doing.

  416.  @facesofj4705  I'm assuming by a flat earther,,, as I've heard several Republicans, in comments, I may as well say Trumper s, you mean I see things only as I see them, and not believe a scientist, or scholar, or anyone that theorized it wasn't,,,,? Maybe so. But that has no bearing on my feelings about Barr. If his label,, thanks to Trump,,, means so much to you,, you can call him that. I'm no Bible thumper either. But I know a false God when I see one. Just as I know an asshole, in human form like Trump and Barr. I didn't hate Trump, or Barr, when Trump became president. And I don't know him personally, so I can't say I'd hate him personally,, or not. But, I do hate, lots about him as a person by his deeds. Not every single one,, but I'd probably say most. He appointed Barr, because he wanted a yes man in that position. The legal duty of Barr is to the country. Not to Donald J thug. I'm numb to the responses of blind Trump lovers. I'm assuming that's you? If I'm wrong, I apologize, but doubt it. Anyone that stands up for a,, false human,, like Trump doesn't have self respect, therefore not mine. Barr is an intelligent thug. But a thug nevertheless. All the shit of them will come out down the road. Maybe sooner than later. Maybe then all the blind trumpists will eat some crow,, but I doubt that too. Good grief man, maybe Obama wasn't perfect. But he wasn't a thug. And,, he could have done better easier, if the f, n Republican storm troopers, like mitch McConnell, did to make his whole 8 years a hell. How can you believe someone like L. Graham, that all the while Clinton was being broiled by those f, n sobs, they quoted their bullshit. Now that their boy is in the hotseat, every syllable out of their mouth is the complete opposite. That stuff is documented, my friend. Etched on tape for the world to hear and see. The position of honor as the attorney General of the USA is meant for an unbiased, apolitical individual. He is, not that.

  590.  @porscheman998  Supreme Court vacancy in 2016 and today BY JUSTINE COLEMANTWEET SHARE EMAIL Fox News's Chris Wallace pressed Sen. Tom Cotton on Sunday on whether there is "any hypocrisy" between the Arkansas Republican's 2016 comments to avoid a Supreme Court justice confirmation ahead of an election and his current call to "move forward without delay." Cotton told "Fox News Sunday" that the GOP-led Senate has a "mandate to perform our constitutional duty" and fill the Supreme Court vacancy after Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg's death on Friday.  Wallace then replayed Cotton's remarks on the Senate floor in 2016 in which the Arkansas senator asked, "Why would we squelch the voice of the people? Why would we deny the voters a chance to weigh in on the makeup of the Supreme Court?"  The senator made the comments after Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia died in February 2016 and then-President Obama nominated Merrick Garland nine months before the presidential election.  "You don't see any hypocrisy between that position then and this position now?" Wallace asked. "Chris, the Senate majority is performing our constitutional duty and fulfilling the mandate that the voters gave us in 2016 and especially in 2018," he said, referring to the midterm elections after Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh's confirmation hearings.  Wallace also asked Cotton if he would "still think it would be proper" for the Senate to confirm President Trump's nominee to the court if the 2020 election resulted in a new president and a Democratic majority in the upper chamber. "Chris, as I said, we are going to move forward without delay, and there will be a vote on this nominee," the senator said. "But, to the point, Donald Trump's gonna win reelection, and I believe the Senate Republicans will win our majority back because the American people know that Donald Trump is going to put nominees up for the federal courts who will apply the law, not make the law," he added.  Ginsburg's death has sparked an intense partisan debate on whether Trump should move forward with nominating her replacement with Election Day 44 days away.  The Supreme Court announced that Ginsburg died of complications from metastatic pancreatic cancer Friday night.  Trump has said he expects to nominate a woman to replace Ginsburg, and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has vowed to give Trump's appointee a vote on the floor, despite blocking Garland's confirmation vote in 2016. Sen. Chris Coons (D-Del.), who spoke on "Fox News Sunday" after Cotton, argued that the election has already begun this year as many Americans participate in mail-in voting and early voting during the coronavirus pandemic. 705.  @therainbowconnection6813  Of course, no vaccine is 100%. But when people are still flooding ERs, and taking hospital beds from other emergency or semi emergency elective surgeries, just because they're making a statement and nothing else,,, that's ridiculous. And no amount of stupid excuses or phony justification with make that right. Man kind has to do hundreds of things they don't necessarily want to do. But if it helps the society as a whole and doesn't truly affect you,,then why not give a little,to save a lot. Seat belts don't work 100%,,,but its the law. Yearly flu shots aren't 100%, but millions are given yearly. You're logic,,,is illogical. Like I said before. I'm all for freedom's. But if its something as minor as a once in a lifetime shot, or wearing a stupid mask around others for a while, it's ridiculous to act out against it. Especially when probably all the promoter's of none usage, have had their shots. Have the best possible health care, or plenty of money, should they get sick and can't work for a couple weeks. Bottom line. You're being lead around by people who don't live your life. They're the 1% but they need ur voices. If you die from covid tomorrow, they won't give a crap, cause they're more than taken care of health care wise. And if you're all set financially and health care wise, think of the hundreds of thousands that not only have died, but poor old or even young now because they made that wrong decision. Biden or anyone doesn't want to mandate anything. But when you have power hungry governor's, like desantis and others hawking for VP slots or even the white house, saying,,, it's your choice, no matter what,,, he's gotta do something. Do me a favor, next time you are out driving,,do some texting when you're near a cop. And when he gives you a 500 dollar ticket, ask him why that law got made. Then argue it when you go to court.

  830.  @joyfullydreaded1371  Oh yes! I totally agree. My brother is 55 years old and is a parts driver. He lives check to check, like many Americans. He recently had a stroke,so obviously could have used his disability thru SS. I mean come on, a stroke. The SS department knows damn well how strokes work. But by the time he would have gotten any money, he fortunately was able to work though still being half paralyzed on one side. Start the checks then investigate would be my thinking. Get the person some instant aid then if they show fraud, stop the checks. We send billions abroad almost instantly for other countries aid. But our own citizens suffer, praying for family help if it's available. Thankfully my sister had appropriate housing for the 5 months my brother recouped. Even if just maybe only to 65% capability. He never got a dime from SSDI. Even to comp my sister having to buy a bed. We got him a walker, shower needs etc. Yet he's paid in for his whole working life. I'm 69. A vet, worked my whole life as a carpenter. Paying in from 24 on. And yes when I applied for my SS retirement, they made sure to tell me, I didn't have enough points to claim SSDI. Not that I wanted too. But let me give you another little tidbit of fairness in SS. My daughter in laws mother is an American citizen, living in Italy. She got remarried to an Italian citizen. And they live and work in Italy. He's never paid a dimes worth of taxes here, yet he gets almost 800 a month for spouse claimed SS retirement from our coffers. And she has worked and lived in Italy, for the last 45 years or more. But still gets SS retirement as well. It's most definitely messed up. But this is what I mean by fraud, in my opinion. Things need some adjustments. But it's too etched in stone so they don't deal with it. I agree with you totally that it's an unfair mess a lot.

  869. @Steve Marquez Steve, For four years, Trump has done things crooked. Whether it be, remove honest, smart gov employees, because they physically witnessed his selfish acts and came out and exposed him. Or give his stupid family members serious positions of power, where they had 0 ability to perform, where they could wheel and deal themselves and him financial gain. All the while, giving the Republicans everything mcconnell wanted, in exchange for them looking the other way in everything he did. Then came the virus. Once again, his ego and anger,to the fact, not that people were dying, but how it would affect his presidency. And once again, the Senate sat on it's tongue,to cover his ass. And for 5 months, real protection and response, didn't come for the people. But mr idiot still cares how it affects his presidency. The whole time, running to his insane following for an ego boost with ridiculous rallies. People are dying, and he's doing f,n rallies. Just to make him feel better about himself, period. And the Republicans sit on their tongue's. Then now we're at a point where finally we see maybe legally we can get rid of this egotistical sleazebag , in a way the Republicans can't mess with. And right to the last weeks, days, hours of the process, the sob and a bunch of republican idiots are willing to get people killed to give this,,,monster,,in rich boy clothes, another 4 years? And you wonder why the majority of us are so damn pissed? So pissed that maybe, dispite our not wanting violence, we're ready to give some,to prevent the beast and his minions to run roughshod over america, any longer. He's been, not only a power hungry slug for 4 years, but an embarrassment, that's made us a laughing stock in the world. You're right about me not doing anything from behind my key board. But I took and used what I have legally to use. My vote and my voice to show my feelings. I also voted for Hillary against this thug. We the majority, won that one. But technically we the majority, lost. I'm just damn glad he's no longer in power. Let's see how far he gets as just DJT, creep.

  870. @Steve Marquez Wrong again Steve. Firstly, just cause I wrote a book, for a comment and mentioned the 2016 election, means I have pent up anger. I don't hold too many grudge's. My sister in law, when my dad died and she made my brother grab a bunch of dads painting s that were blue ribbon fair wins and they took them all before we were there, and because I was adopted, she told my brother I shouldn't get any of the inheritance,,,grr. Yes I still won't talk to her. But,,as for the 2016 election, I was disappointed, but the electoral college is part of the written system, so I rode with it. I was perfectly willing to give Rump a chance. Even knowing he is a scumbag his whole life. I figured like most people, the government is set up the way it is to check the branches. Keep everything legal. Rump said, I m not a politician. I'm going to drain the swamp. I saw shortly after, that was just another lie, that he spouts like spittle when he speaks. So, the ruthless Republicans had their way with him. Kiss his giant ass, he'll kiss theirs. All I care about is fairness and justice. I'm not a college grad. I'm a 6 ft,220 carpenter, that's worked hard all my adult life to raise our kids, see they had it better than me, and hope the people we elect will care about doing the right thing for everyone. Sure I ,,, hate people like Trump, mcconnell, Graham etc. I hate unfairness, exclusiveness, greed, prejudice. And they stand for those things. If you're for all that oh well. We both have our rights to think what we want. All I know is, the majority spoke for the better this time. But I'm not stupid enough to not know the so called, conservatives, won't be plotting another comeback in 2022 and 24. But pent-up hate? Nope.

  916.  @Bryanx1964  Well first off, you're right he's been investigated, but not just 4 years, more like 40. You're knight in shining armor, that in your eyes, rides out at 6am on his white horse and fights crime all day. But oops, you're wrong. The slug has been a total cheat, conman and crooked white collar creep his whole life. Don't take my word for it, do some research. If you truly care. I doubt it. His most recent, truly is the trying to get the president of Ukraine to say that he's running an investigation on the Biden s, due to questionable dealings in corruption etc. He basically planned to use that information to slander or attack Biden s credibility in the upcoming election. Just as he did in 2016 with hillary. You see, in politics, every slur you place in voters minds, gets them thinking twice about voting for your opponent. Anyway,,, thats a crime. Then, in order to cover that crime, you use your position as president to stop other people, with knowledge of your crime, from testifying to the law. That's another crime. It's called obstruction. And according to the constitution of United States of America, impeachable. And that's what all this is about. If that simple explanation isn't good enough, you're beyond help. You may think all the evidence is,, made up, or here say. But come on. Do you believe about a dozen journeymen and women, dedicated to serving the US, or a lifelong conman and his gang that are in the game for 4 more years of a disgraceful human being that took everything his dad made all his life and bought gold toilets and other luxuries cause he thinks he's a king.
