That's my biggest concern about battery vehicles. Battery recycling and toxicity caused by recycling and disposal of the leftovers. There WILL BE, toxic waste from battery recycling. Hell, even manufacturing of them.

Santos is already on committees I believe. So trying to get him to resign is probably going to fail. But ya know, I'll bet something pops up to get him into even more trouble.

@TheScotsalan Don't get me wrong. I'm all for pollution reform anywhere possible. But I'm not for substituting one environmental sin for another.

@TheScotsalan And where is the energy coming from to recharge all the millions of battery powered vehicles? Still coal or fossil. I was curious about why there seems to be so many children born with birth defects. I read there is a 50% rise in children born with birth defects just since 2005. I didn't go further, finding out the possible cause, but I'll tell you, things like toxic waste seems like a pretty good possibility. Our fancy electronics use materials not before common in landfills and or recycling materials disposal. Batteries are such an easy substitute for fossil fuels, but I don't think people are looking at the volume of the potential outcome as long as there is money to be made from it. Lithium alone is another resource that will dwindle. Looking at it from your comment. And its not exempt from toxic leftovers when recycled. I just hope if so, it's caught sooner than later.

@buddyflood6761 We'll see. I'm sure there's no turning back. Batteries is already a bazillion dollar industry. And I'll bet if we read the fallout from older batteries that there already are world wide and been around so long, we'd be horrified by the results. And you can bet the battery industry wouldn't want us to know about that either. Probably why birth defects have tripled since 2005. But, that's progress . And many are billionaires because of it. And don't give one dime to cancer research.

@nancystowell4877 I guess this makes you one of the folks with enough financial ability to afford all of those things. I'd dare say most Americans won't have the financial wherewithal to afford not only a battery powered vehicle. But a garage, solar systems etc. But that's not really my point is it? It's batteries. I read an article years ago, about the fact that, the US ships all it's electronic waste,to China. We don't want to pollute our soil with all the toxic shit. So we ship it to China or wherever, and they process it and use whatever is recyclable and probably burn whatever is left. But they have land fills. Where they store it until it's dealt with, and little poorer Chinese kids go thru the stuff looking for computer parts that contain platinum or other precious stuff to sell for something to help them survive. But in those piles are old " batteries", and other toxic leftovers that we don't want in our environment. But do you think that the recyclers there have strict environmental regs about burning or burying or anything to do with the waste? So the crap gets burned where you don't see it from your perfect solared all battery powered home. But as long as you have yours. Now don't think for a moment that I exempt myself from some battery waste toxic pollution. I use battery powered tools and flashlight etc. My work truck battery gets replaced every 5 years or so. I'm no perfect person either. But don't think for a second that battery powered everything is going so green, that there's no toxic leftovers. Then multiple your situation times the households in the US alone. Hell, we don't even recycle all the plastic we make. And that's more simple than battery recycling . Why? Cause there's not enough profit in it. So it just gets buried. Or burned. Creating toxic air. That's my point.

@buddyflood6761 Exactly. There are groups that truly investigate these things. Fact finders. And they take findings to courtrooms. But all that happens is, companies are required to place warning labels on things. Then legally they're covered. Then supposedly, the balls in the people's court as to whether or not to use these things. Use at your own risk. So to speak. Corded screw gun. Cordless. Your choice. But....All these supposed , better products, still need to be recharged . Meaning more power from where? Power stations, powered by electric plants. Then like you said. More money for the big shots. It is a game. We'll always have the good ole manual 🪛. But just like drive thru fast foods and other things. We're getting lazy. There are choices. And its not just, government or industry. It's us too.

I never knew she won the governor ship. Gag,gag, gag. She's doing the same shit as our autocratic gov Desantrump here in Florida. What a bunch of ego driven turds. I'll bet she's making daddy mike proud.

@evelynmurphy9599 I kinda doubt he's a Brazilian naturally. Speaks English a bit too well for as young as he is. Maybe his parents that probably were secret agents for KAOS. He's been into right wing bullshit for years it seems. Behind the scenes. As this progresses, something will come to the surface about this wacko.
