But, if rates normalize, these home “investments” are going to crash big time and they will get burned on their principal.

But to take a new mortgage that is 2 plus points higher and waste $5k on loan fees to get a little dough out seems reckless and could easily result in them losing their house altogether.

  25. Fed officials never believed the transitory narrative. But they tried and failed to talk consumers into believing inflation wasn’t real. That’s because they knew all along if they were forced to use their tools, it would cause a massive recession or worse. And they haven’t even started unloading their $9 trillion balance sheet…it’s gonna get ugly.

  44. Walmart just raised their minimum wages 15%. This rippled through to other low skilled jobs and everywhere up from there. Labor is the most expensive input costs for most businesses. Therefore, this will be passed on in higher and higher prices. We are in a wage-price death spiral.

The Fed has a long ways to go to do enough demand destruction to make up for the policies of the last couple years.
