I don’t think “most historical sources point to her being 12 or 14.” That’s not to say there aren’t sources at all that do bc as w everything in Is lame there’s a gazillion different opinions for every subject since they’re allowed to make up their own religion, but the most popular and accepted say she was 6. I think what’s probably more accurate is that as time and morality improved due to leaving that area and witnessing how others live (bc we already know everything was written centuries after the fact), so, too, did their claims that she was older. That comes from those who are better than their profit yet still make excuses for him.
