It's not about being a "world power." It's about honoring commitments and not abandoning an ally that has been fiercely loyal and very effective at combating terrorism.

@jackdaniel5229 Trump the coward got a stern call from Erdogan and immediately abandoned our allies overnight. There is no way anyone will trust Trump ever again, the way he just walks away from commitments---in this case, leaving close allies to be slaughtered. Did Trump's properties in Turkey come into play on that call, or was Trump just to much of a moron to know that you don't just leave someone on the battlefield like that. It's not just morally wrong, it's a strategic blunder. No one will ever trust Trump to keep his word on anything---and good luck finding allies like the Kurds again, after Trump threw them under a barrage of tanks.
