Social media platforms, like all private companies, have a right to have rules in terms of service---just like a restaurant can impose a dress code---as long as the rules apply to everyone. If you peddle conspiracy theories, bullshit and lies that violate someone's terms of service they have a right close your account.

@James-sz5bi there's a case to be made for regulation, and breaking up Facebook, but freedom of speech means the government can't punish you for what you say. It doesn't apply to a private company and social media platform.

@adampike3834 Trump sought foreign help in an election campaign----that is illegal. He openly asked for Putin's help on TV. His campaign and family members met with Russians to seek their help. His campaign gave polling data to a Russian oligarch and never said why.

@adampike3834 Jared, Trump Jr. and Manafort held a secret meeting with Russians to seek Putin's help in the campaign, then they all lied about it. Trump Jr. claimed the meeting was about "adoptions," but that was a lie. Trumps team then declared that they walked away empty-handed, so it's no big deal----except even SEEKING foreign help in the campaign is illegal. The fact that they got away with this is crazy. Trump on TV declared: Russia if you're listening, please find Hillary's emails. Trump to the Ukrainian president when Ukraine wanted our help "I'd like you to do us a favor, though." These are what we call facts on my planet.
