  1. Putin has shown he really doesn't take negotiations seriously. His "negotiations" with Ukraine are like Hitler's "negotiations" with Czechoslovakia---surrender or be destroyed. The only way Putin might be willing to negotiate as if he keeps losing on the battlefield and looks for a way out. Ukraine has suffered so much it shouldn't have to give up a single inch of territory if it doesn't want to.
