Comments by "林子倫" (@zilun) on "Customers swarm Costco store at opening in Shanghai" video.
Ever consider the possibility that Costco is finally allowed into the market because of the trade war? This is U.S. selling to China.

When more Costco stores open in China, stores that get shut down will be local Chinese mom and pop store. See, income of these customers don't increase just because Costco opened. Which means, every item sold by Costco, some Chinese seller lost sales of that item.

@hazenetb U.S.'s consumers' purchasing power per capita is 6× that of a Chinese.

@hazenetb The same car? The same item? See, the world wants 1.4 billion Chinese to have the same purchasing power as Americans. It'd be great for everyone. That was the whole point of giving China privileged terms in WTO to help develop China. It's CCP printing money to keep Chinese poor. This is what pro-CCP goons don't understand. Also, the world expected the more China's economy developed, the more it will open for free and fair trade, but we have learnt that's not going to happen. Hence, the correction.

@hazenetb By the way, 6X, as in GDP per capita.

@hazenetb It isn't meaningless. Because citizens in coastal region aren't going to donate their money to inland population's personal expenses.
1
@hazenetb Geez. What money people on the coast have aren't going into inland population's pockets, hence per capita counts. Get it?

@hazenetb When is any place not a market? Is Trump against selling to China? Nope, he is asking China to buy and open up its market. But which side is enjoying huge trade surplus? China. Because U.S. has a far greater purchasing power. So much so those money practically built China. Of U.S's exports, less than 5% is to China. But more than 25% of China's export replies on U.S. consumers. U.S. is a far bigger market with far greater purchasing power.
