That’s just special economic blockage operation. If contract stated payment in USD, payment should be made in USD. If he wanted payments in Ruble, he should have negotiated for payments in Ruble BEFORE he signed those contracts.

@TheJcrist No wars had been stopped by sanctions because no sanctions had enough impact as this one. Military operations cost a shet ton of money. Wars had been concluded by talks? That never happened in human history. Didn't Ukraine and Russia had talk after Russia annexed Crimea? Where are we now? History has taught us, wars can only be stopped by making the agressor fail. It's the ONLY way.

@eddieosofo5019 Purpose of sanctions is to make sure Pootin won't be able to fund more wars, to handicap his ability to cause more malice.

@TheJcrist Yes, he would have money he can’t spend. So he won’t be able fund military invasion after military invasion. That’s the idea. How many Ukrainians have homes they can’t go back to? And you’re going, “But he has money he can’t spend”?

@TheJcrist China had been threatening to take Taiwan since the 50s. Verbally. It’s only this past decade or so that China exerted military threats. Why? Because China was dirt poor prior to 90s. So, depriving aggressor of economic power to fund military aggression works.
