Obviously Samsung will be fine. Samsung is also the "Lockheed Martin" for Korea's military, the 800lb Gorilla of global chip supplier, screen supplier etc, etc. Samsung will be fine even if they stop selling smartphone altogether. Still kinda lame to ship beta products.

@pilotavery So you think it's okay for Samsonite to sell you a $4k luggage that breaks to unable state after first trip, so your $4k can tell them what to improve?

@me-me3126 You won't be saying the same if it was an Apple phone.

@pilotavery It isn't ready. End of story. Just image the EXACT same scenario happening to 1st gen dual screen Nintendo 3DS where its top 3D screen has a layer that could easily be broken and turn the entire unit into trash. You won't be saying, "Well, we've got to figure out how to better implement 3D. It's a first." It's unacceptable. We are the end user, we are not a paid engineers working for Samsung. Also, Toyota never sold cars that stopped working after one week just so they can figure out what to fix.

@NCozy They announced it to be available. This look like it still belongs in R&D prototype stage. I'm going to bet Samsung will cancel it altogether, just watch. This can't be fixed before launch. Having issues is different from truncating the entire unit.

@pilotavery Your 1st gen iPhone turned into paper weight after few days of use?

@NCozy I'm not so sure about this one. There are a lot of tough as nails screen protectors and those break over time without its owner peeling that layer due to it just sitting on top with exposed edges. A screen layer with its edges exposed which can be lifted with a fingernail doesn't sound okay. Even if phone's owner never does it. Just imagine wiping that screen, it's going to peel the edges over time no matter how careful.

@pilotavery No they didn't.

@NCozy MKBHD said it only became apparent that it was glued differently than regular screen protector after an area about the size of a quarter coin had been lifted. Not good. And he still continued until its screen started flickering that he realize maybe that wasn't a screen protector.

@NCozy I am not.

There is a simple reason why review units didn't have retail warning. Review units were pre-inspected to ensure units on reviewers' hands are flawless, so the team hand picking those units already took off the warning. What a mess.
