@kaister901 If CEO of TSMC were a Taiwanese who acts like a puppet to CCP, U.S. would grind him just as hard. Anyone of any nationality can be a CCP's puppet, knowingly or unknowingly, he could be an American, a Danish, a Russian, a Taiwanese, a Singaporean, a Thai. Bottom line is, does he have enough power to say NO to CCP's demands? Nope.

@timnic3850 Exactly. Most people outside walls of China are using a mentality that does not apply to China, on China. U.S. government can't takeover an American company for non-compliance to state's demands, CCP can takeover any company within China, even foreign companies, for non-compliance to state's demands. U.S. government can't install state officials in directors' board in private companies, CCP can. Truth is, CCP can control TikTok's algorithms to pump up whichever CCP favors and suppress whichever CCP wants silenced.

Automotive companies? Like Mexican cars? It’s parts made for American cars. It’s a balance between economy and national security, where national security matters more. Trump was going to tax Taiwan 100% tariffs on chips. Now, it’s 0%. Because TSMC convinced U.S. its partnership with U.S. is a win-win situation and not a national security threat. U.S. can be reasoned with. Just make your case.

@outdooraddictionpa8218 It’s up to Putin. Russia troops go home, war ends. Ukraine can make a peace deal that give half of Ukraine to Russia today, and a year from today, Russia will invade that other half yet again. Have we not learnt from WWII?
