  1. Those non-Apple screens had Apple logo on the back side. Though not visible by consumer. But as a business owner, you don't want a product you didn't take part in to have your company name on it. You also don't want to have your customers' user experience being reflected from parts/products which they think it's yours but isn't. Those parts were not manufactured under Apple's QC watch. All Apple asked, was for the repair guy to not use parts with Apple logo that didn't come from Apple. If I had to guess, those came from factories that make Apple phones but those parts didn't pass Apple's QC and were supposed to be truncated, but to those factories, it's "good enough" to be shipped into repair market. Where do you suppose China's reputation of bad QC came from?

  2.  @MrNateSPF  No one noticed in that video, the recovery technician was able to go through the owner's photos before asking her permission? Imagine if those weren't her vacation photos but photos of her having sex with her husband. Maybe that's why there are certain methods Apple would refuse to use to recover data, and would invalidate those those methods practiced by 3rd party technicians as viable options?
