  3. Warning shots fired was past few cases in past few days. Taiwanese were not pleased with how patrols responded. One got shot down today. But medias are still overhyping. These are all NOT military drones. They are all hobby drones anyone can buy for $299 at Wal-Mart. It's just China being a p.i.a.

  4.  @syyylvo  Nope. China wants it as China's water. So U.S. has to sail through it to let China know U.S. intends to enforce it as open waters. It's China challenging our rule based world. China is the one creating problems.

  5.  Dark Cloud  China, Russia, and Iran can sail close to U.S. coasts as long as it's open waters. They don't do it not because they are being nice, but because they don't have the capacity, the ability, the funding, and the guts to do so. China is the only country upset by U.S.'s military presence in the region, while all other countries in the region welcome it. All other countries in the region are more annoyed by China's military activities in the region. Why?

  6.  @asodcficc  Yes. But quoted out of context. He was addressing new cadets. He was saying, West Point and Marine's motto always had been "Never lie or tolerate anyone who does". Yet, when he was at CIA, their works involved lying and training agents to lie(the quote), which was in conflict with what he believes. Then, he continues to admit that ideals does not always work in reality, because there are some really evil deeds being carried out by nasty groups, so U.S. needs to have different approach to deal with different groups to stop inhumane atrocities going around the world. He was telling them they will have to face the same internal conflict at some point, and they'll have to decide what's the right thing to do. Books and ideals can't teach them what actions are right. It's up to them to be good men.
