That's an interesting comparison. I think one big differences is the loan to the Bank of Switzerland is likely to be paid back and loans to Ukraine are likely to not be paid back by Ukraine (maybe by a 3rd party though).

@cageybee7221 One decade to pay all the loans? That's assuming the war ends today. This war will continue for a while. Also, are we including the loans that will be provided to rebuild Ukraine or are we only looking at the loans during the war? If we are considering the loans after the war, no way Ukraine will ever be able to pay off most or all of those loans.
5
@cageybee7221 A decade after the peace deal is signed? But the longer the war goes, the most debt they will have. Imagine 4 yrs of this -- 4x the debt they already have! And you're saying the the EU would give Ukraine over $100 billion euros in loans to pay other loans? And that's not including the hundreds of billions more needed to rebuilt Ukraine.

@MisterFoxton Yeah, actually, I think that's the part where they did cross the line of click bait. Even it was misleading that Russia actually paid Ukraine when it was just Ukraine doesn't have to pay a debt, saying "Russia just had to pay..." is wrong when that's not what the decision said.

@BigBoiiLeem But the title makes to very misleading comment. First, that Ukraine will be receiving $3 billion to their current situation. They are not. Second and more troubling is that the title states it as a certainty. At 5:02 they specifically say that Ukraine may still have to pay and that it was just that their appeal was granted. A separate court decision will decide on what will actually happen.

@cageybee7221 Nothing you describe sounds like there is a high probability for Ukraine to pay back all it's debt or be in a confident position to pay back all it's debt in 10 years. Those chances get reduced the longer the war goes and costs during the war rise an cost to repair Ukraine after rise. I'm fairly certain the lenders know that it's very likely Ukraine they will have to forgive part of their loans.

@blacklighthologram5339 That's like saying Putin saved 10,000 Ukrainians by deciding not to flatten one village.

@BigBoiiLeem yeah, i was just pointing out that I was converted too
2
@Rolando_Cueva That's easy, it's pronounced "my name".
2
@cageybee7221 " no-one wants to loan money and have it forgiven, t" Except when it's governments doing it to help an ally....which is exactly what's happening. that's why only government/political entities are loaning Ukraine money.

They slaughtered some names that were in Spanish in the past and I thought "But spanish isn't that different to English compared to Slavic or Asian laguages".

@giantWario I find my existence trivial!

@VHCosta I find your comment trivial

@kreuner11 That's sadly the fact. I guess this isn't too bad for a click bait to get algorithm.
1
@BigBoiiLeem hey, I originally didn’t think it was misleading then people pointed out these small details I overlooked. I do understand why they make these clickbait titles for algorithm purposes but this one might have been more inaccurate than their typical click bait title.

@franekkkkk Eat your Moscow Blini. The new cold war was started by Russia.

@ccash3290 The goal of Marshall Plan was to rebuild so the world can get back to normal. Secondary, it would helpfully make these countries realize capitalism works. I wouldn't say it was to buy support for the US but probably more to prevent communism from spreading by seeing the wonders of capitalisms.

@arkhammemery4712 I've noticed some British people or people who learned British English will say "sh" for an 's' often. Peninsula is often pronounced "peninshula"
1
@Spacemongerr In some languages, the 'c' is only pronounced (mostly) one way. In English, it's complicated. Caesar's Cake could cease chopping. If English was ever fixed like they sort of fixed Spanish and other languages, they would have just used the letters you said -- K, S, CH. The 'ch' is different than 'sh' but they are are so close in sound that both shouldn't exist so I'm good with 'Sh'.
