@basiltozer9078 going backwards? Russia had half the country and now down to 20%. And Russia stopped advancing.

3:12 FYI, this is comparing revenue from energy vs costs of war. Yes, revenue from energy is slightly higher but that isn’t the profit of revenue. The profit is much smaller thus the energy profit isn’t enough to pay for the war which is why they are still going further and further into debt.

@unduloid and Russian oil is not very cheap to produce compared to Arabian peninsula oil. Same for the US and Canada where unlike In the Middle East where the oil is near the surface and sometime shuts bubbling out, oil in North America and Russia require a lot more costs.

@basiltozer9078 fighting o the cheap? Well, sort of — they know the sanctions will make it hard to obtain main components. $1 billion a day for Russia or over $350b a year is a tremendous amount. That’s roughly how much the government spending was in total before the invasion. So they have doubled their spending cost. That would similar to US spending $4 trillion a year if you look at US government spending or also $4 trillion if you just took the war spending as % of total gdp. $4 trillion for the US would be extremely difficult long term, maybe one or two years would be okay.
