Ukraine says they would only go to pre-2014 borders but they need to say that for barganing reasons. I think they are willing to let Crimea go in a negotiation but they would need the rest of Ukraine back, probably some compensation, and certain security agreements. Of course if Ukraine is plowing through Russia's army over the next year, they won't stop until they get it all back.

@kukuc96 That's not how this work though. Whle that is a concern, you can only get what you can force. If Ukraine at some point has trouble with reclaiming more of it's land back, it will have to negotiate. I think they can live with giving up Crimea if they get all other territory back...Of course if Ukraine is plowing through Russia's army over the next year, they won't stop until they get it all back. And Ukraine will need certain security agreements such as being allowed to join NATO and Russia allowing it without further aggression.

@brianmulholland2467 "but I don't think it is." But it is. You cannot get something that you cannot get. My point is Ukraine does want crimea and will try it's hardest to get it but there MIGHT be a point where they can't make much more progress and therefore they have no choice but to give up Crimea. Donbas and Crimea are both going to be difficult to get. Donbass is right next to Russia so supplying it is the easiest. Crimea will be hard to invade as it acts like an island. > On top of that, Crimea has always gotten the majority of it's water from the Dniper river via an aqueduct. It's agricultural water, sure. But Russia will let the fields wither away to keep it. They only need to hold out for a few years before Ukraine is forced negotiate. I'm not saying Ukraine won't or can't take Crimea, just that the water is not a problem for Russia.

@sweety29may Russia never saved civilians. They target civilians like f-sc1st which is why you support Putin. The same Putin that eliminates from life political opposition and arrests protestors. Made himself dictator. All of this sounds like Adolph. So no surprise you are a f-sc1st

@sweety29may but you have been consuming russian state media and they tell you that elimination of life of the political opposition and arresting protesters and controlling all the major news is “regular democracy”
