@rylandrc Got it. YT has made many changes that make the experience worse. Getting rid of dislikes?? I have to watch a video in part or entirety to find out if it's any good? And comments no longer showing dislikes? Then YT removes so many comments and it's hard to know why. I'm also getting far more YT commercials which I believe might be related to me watching more YT (they know I will keep tuning in). I'm seriously going to look at Nebula or whatever the service is that most of these educational videos are on.

@rylandrc "but it looks like very few new comments were added due to no longer being anywhere visible near the top." Yeah, when you first replied to that the post is buried this comment chain had about 90-95 replies . That's every little for 1.4k likes especially when it had over 50 comment replies in the first 24 hours.

@rylandrc I've had the increased ad for at least 2 months but maybe it was still part of Holidays? Before last week, I used my iphone for 95% of youtube and my tv or computer for the other 5%. But I've been using my computer (with 27" monitor) a lot more the past few weeks. I'll get the ad blocker on my computer and I"ll look into apps for phone usage.

@rylandrc I did figure out somewhat hack on phone when I kept getting all the ads. I'm getting a lot more "1 of 2 ads" with the first being a full 15 second! I realized one day when I cast my phone YT to my TV at the beginning when the ad is playing, it just skips the ad! So with all these longer and more frequent ads, I tried something new -- if I get a full 15 second ad or "1 of 2 ads", i just quickly connect my phone to my TV, wait for it to connect (takes like 2 seconds), then disconnect and the video starts up on my phone without any commercials! But I'm starting to notice I'm getting hit with a short ad a couple minutes into watching (2-4 minutes) so maybe they try to correct for that.

@TheSmart-CasualGamer the videos are good enough to stand on their own without clickbait titles? No they are not because quality isn’t the only thing that draws views. Titles are a HUGE part of drawing views. Quality keeps the the main viewers coming back but titles is what brings in new viewers and what brings in the off and on viewers. It’s sadly how YouTube works.

@Menno_3 valid constructive criticism would mean first understanding how YouTube works. You people are complaining about click baity titles but have little understanding of how YouTube works. Quality keeps viewers coming back but titles are extremely important to bring in new viewers which this Channel needs. And most importantly,, this title is about as weak of click bait as you will see. It’s the wrong video to bring up click baity titles. I follow man my other news type of programs and they all are forced to use some click bait titles. This is barely even one compared to what is normally seen on YouTube. I read all the comments above you and I don’t think one offered valid constructive criticism. Just complaints like yours.

@rylandrc sarcasm?

@rylandrc How can it get 1.4k likes if it's hard to find?
1
@rylandrc Okay, I get you know. I opened up the video on incognito window. It was a top 2 comment when I first commented when this video was already over a day old. Since then it's no longer even on the first page of whatever the default sort that YT uses. I don't now how YT sorts but I imagine it's a combination of number of likes and the like to dislike ration. But then I was about to press 'reply', I notice I can't even find the comment. So it probably got removed by the YT system for some key words which I have seen comments disappear like that.

@rylandrc How did you find this? does it show up or did you follow something specifically to this comment?
1
@rylandrc How did you know about the comment? So it seems it's still up but at the bottom. I doubt YT personally did anything but maybe dislikes got it moved down? Or TLDR can force it down?

@rylandrc YT removes lots of comments for no reason and this one will likely as well.
