@chemicalfrankie1030 The bad part of being the reserve currency is the high price of the dollar with makes exports more expensive -- thus harder to export. But the "export inflation" is basically saying it allows the US to carry more debt. So it's a trade-off....reduction in exports but ability to have higher debt. They are probably a wash but the deciding point would be the power it gives the US with sanctions.

@dennohnjogu4028 Funny but not really accurate. Or is Jack Grealish the best of his era? Otherwise, terrible analogy. Byzantine was the longest stable currency but in an era with far less trade and far less currency in circulation. US is the big currency of the past 50 years in the era of globalized trade.
