@sjv9147s the small Ukraine that didn’t have an army 9 years ago with limited 2nd tier US weapons has been defeating Russia over the past 2 months and slowly pushing out Russia and you’re saying that US weapons aren’t superior? Lol! Ukraine wasn’t given any serious airplanes, the Himars missiles they have are limited to 50 miles (300 miles is capable with other missiles), and Ukraine hasn’t received any advance drones or tanks from the US.

Mohamed Nazer source US is buying South Korean weapons? South Korea gets much of its weapons from the US. And US pushing for peace talks not because it’s getting costly for the US. The US has spent $20 billion on Ukraine which like 3% of the IS total military budget.

Perhaps pro Russian fighters weee just fighting defensive — trench fighting and didn’t learn Anything else? I don’t know, this whole argument never made sense. For sure urkriane learned but I don’t know how Russia and separatist didn’t also learn.

@tavdy79 so where are those separatist now? I’m having trouble understanding how Ukrainians learned a lot from it but the people they fought learned very little. And that war since 2014 was mostly just trench warfare with relatively limited weapons compared to what Ukraine has now. My only guess is that Ukraine didn’t learn enough to Surpass Russia in knowledge but they just learned the basics — they started with essentially zero military in 2014. So let’s russia was a 70/100 in fighting knowledge and Ukraine was 0/100 in 2014. But are start of war of Feb 2022, Russia was still at 70 but Ukraine was 50/100. Then US intel and western weapons pushed Ukraine to a 75/100 today.

@Nethan2000 The founding fathers applied the second amendment only to the federal government and states would be able to choose their own gun laws. That only changed in 2008 and 2010 as a very conservative court rewrote gun history and re-interpreted the 2A to now apply to the states and no longer justified for needing a militia but for self defense. Don’t trust the conservatives

@jayl878 I’ve been to several parts of China and more than half probably won’t last 70 years. I noticed lots of empty buildings. In one location there were maybe 30 nearly identical buildings all around 25-35 floors high. In the evening I noticed only about 20% of the units had light. Heck, I’d say 1/3 of the holdings looked completely empty or nearly empty. I was told those building had been completed about 7 years earlier.

@jayl878 construction from after about 2010 appear to be better quality but the homes built before seem to be in need of major repair after 10-20 years.

@jayl878 the older ones are most certainly worse. They were building like crazy through 2014ish so since then it’s slowed down and I think there have been more regulations on housing construction. My ex s/o is from there but it’s been a year since we broke up. I don’t know what they think of the situation in 2022. I was last there early 2020 and had been there around 2017. The numerous empty buildings shocked me. Kumming had what appeared to be several dozen high rises on the outer edge of the city. Who’s going to want to move there? The Chinese love the dense urban cores of city. These 30+ buildings all looked completed yet empty but I only saw it from the major highway a km away.

It was his supporters in an attempt that clearly had no power to it unlike Castillo who has so much power in his actions as he literally tried to remove congress with his presidential powers.

Are you seriously arguing that it would have been less Evil if trump decided to remove all of congress and have unlimited power than to do what he did - anger a crowd and send them to the capitol?

@solveigvan808 it would be more like comparing chipotle and McDonald’s, both are fast food but different foods. They do compete and people make a decision “should I do lunch at McDonald’s or Chipotle” just like they do “should I watch a Netflix movies/series or watch YouTube”. Of course there are even closer competitors like McDonald’s vs Burger King or Netflix vs HBO but watching more YouTube does lead to watching less Netflix and vice versa.

If you knew anything about Alaska is that it’s not anywhere near as environmentally hospitable to humans as Norway is. That’s why only 700,000 people live in the whole state vs 5.4 million in norway despite Alaska being 5x bigger. The state actually pays people to move to Alaska!
