  1. PBS has a YouTube channel “Storied” that goes over interesting things of languages. Some videos are exactly like that — interesting ways words or idioms got their meaning. One of the last I saw was how many idioms and words we use today came from sailors, usually from the era of British empire 1600’s-1800’s. Great stuff

  6.  @TheDramacist this is often my biggest problem with government and privacy — that others might be able to steal it or just needs one bad actor in government with access to the private info to sell it or leak it. I care a little but not too much what the government itself will do with most of that lnfo as there are laws in how they can use that info. But just like corporations have data leaks, so do governments

  24. Drugs are researched and manufactured for the money. Without that incentive, they won’t. But middle men and insurances also have the same incentives and together they drive up the cost. That’s why the govt needs to do the negotiating— keeps the financial incentives but also as a single huge buyer, the govt can negotiate better prices
