  1. It has nothing to do with the tray. It has to do with the temperature of the coffee. I believe the drink has to be no higher than 130 degrees (Fahrenheit) otherwise it’s too hot for consumption. That coffee was too hot. They need to turn down their temperature. So even if it spills, it will not cause those burns, on most adults.
