I understand what your saying but, when you have 3 kids so young and your on vacation you really want to enjoy “adult” company. I just had one and my husband kept trying to get me to go out with him. I was tempted but in the end something would happen and we never got a chance to go out. Both parents thought the other was watching the room door. After all they were on vacation. It was just a mess.

Poison Ivy - I remember the interviews. The staff said they don’t remember the parents leaving the table to check on the kids. One couple they were with said the husband did get up and leave the table they assumed to go check on the kids. No one remembers seeing them entering or leaving the room. The parents say they did and took turns every hour. That was said at the time it happened. I remember this cause from what they said it sounded like the parents were setting up an alibi for their daughters murder. They made a big deal out of “checking” on the kids.

Otis Williams - famous last words. It sounds so simple, but you will do it too. Everyone does. You take a nap while your 5 year old is watching cartoons. You hear the doorbell but don’t answer cause your tired and want a nap. Then you hear your child talking to the person at the door. Keep in mind that people will leave their kids in the car with the engine running while they go into 7/11 for something to drink. So don’t say you would never do something like what they did cause there is a High probability that you will.

Harry Hadden - then where did the blood come from if she died in her sleep from pills?

They weren’t friend friends. They were people they met while on holiday. The police let everyone leave without collecting names or how to get in contact them despite everyone telling them not to let them go without the info. Even the reporters.

T - I’m thinking the same thing. Mostly cause the people interviewed on the news don’t remember seeing her that night. They remember her from other days but not that night. And the parents made such a big deal when going to check on her just before she was found missing.

SUGAR XYLER ! - then you would be wrong. It doesn’t end, your priorities change. You don’t drink as much, you include your kids in the fun and when you can’t you either find a sitter or don’t do them. Wait until you have kids and remember your comment. See what you will justify in your head because you just want a night for yourself. Not even a whole night a few hours. And by the way I raised 5 kids, all safe and sound. I never did what this family did by choice, I can see why others do. I just couldn’t and wouldn’t take the chance. The fact that you can’t see why these parents did this means you haven’t any kids. So you can’t understand. Which is why I said, remember your comment.

It’s a sad case but the police screwed up from the get go. They treated it like she got up and went looking for her parents she will come back on her own. The police trampled over evidence and did not preserve the scene. It was almost 4 days before the police decided to take it seriously. Then they only looked at the parents, they did not look into the backgrounds of the other guests and even let them leave the country with no info on how they could be contacted later. The police looked at it as “so what they’re tourists and not our citizens.” It was not until world wide coverage did the police take it as a serious case and not one of once the tourists leave we can wash our hands of it all.

Lawyers tell you to do this so you don’t repeat yourself and stay in track. It keeps you focused.

Andreas M - I do believe that is the US and not British or Portuguese law.

Was a description ever given out about the “They” as in her saying They took her? I don’t remember a description ever being released. Maybe if people had one we would be able to find her, eliminate them as suspects. Give it out now and maybe we could be closer to finding her - dead or alive.

Pluto cchio - Call the police and let them know what you think. Do not call 911 / 999 / 111 / 000 or whatever your countries emergency code is. Look in the phone book for non-emergency police number, some places it is 311.

8luvbug - it was on site. Meaning their condo was in the same area as the restaurant. Look at it more like several condos in one area on the beach with the restaurant/bar in the middle building.

Savant Lady Lilith - I didn’t say they were drugged. Just asleep. The restaurant was at the resort just not in their wing of it. At the main building. They said on the news that they could see their room/ back door and know if a kid got up and came outside looking for them. What they failed at was securing the front door. The parents did say they got up and checked on the kids, they took turns. The people they were with confirmed this at the time. There was no mention of how the Mother smelled on the news. I have not seen the Netflix movie I am using my memory. The only people to bring up sex trafficking was the news experts. It did not come from the parents, guest or police at the time. As more and more time went by the news reported on it as being a strong possibility since the photo of a little girl riding on some women’s back. When this child was found and it was announced that it wasn’t Maddie the new so called experts chimed in again about sex trafficking even though there was no evidence.
